Thank you notes for LOR writers

FAP, it is probably fine. I thought about going about it the same way that your son is. I just felt a little strange about waiting so long, so I encouraged the thank you notes to go out sooner. My son also gave out small gifts. One of the LOR writers asked my son to let her know where he is going once he finalizes his decision.

My daughter’s gave 2 of 3 of their LOR writers a gift and thank you note. One, only one daughter used, and she was looking for some special tea she liked. She plans on giving that soon.
My son gave Thank you notes 3 years ago, but they had some writing in them and he printed a few lines. His beef was his handwriing (like mine) is awful and he thought it would take away from the card, he had wanted to email. I still think they appreciate a real card that can’t be deleted. : )

I made my Chemistry teacher a large periodic table cookie (with thank you card) to thank him for writing me a letter of recommendation. And then he wrote me a thank you card back. Should I write him a you’re welcome note or something?

Millancad–I think the “thank you” cards can end with his note!

And I’m in Cinti. too! Or more accurately, just north of it…

My son wrote thank you notes before the app deadlines–they were a combination reminder and thank you. Good thing too, as his GC had actually forgotten one recc he was supposed to write!
