When will this dining hall be openning? I see it is the only option on the West Side and is under renovation.

They were working on it last Friday when we were there and I’m almost positive the tour guide said it would be open in the fall. We ate in the other newly rennovated dining hall and it was VERY nice!

We toured in mid-June and our tour guide also told the group it would open in the fall. Here is a link to a nice article about the Student Union renovations and some other new options.

I just received an official announcement from LSU Dining:

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE! Due to construction delays, our newest dining hall
The 5 will unfortunately not be ready in time for the Fall semester as we had hoped.
Highland Dining Hall, not far from the LSU Student Union, will remain open until The 5
is completed. The 459 Commons behind Acadian Hall is also open for meal plan service.
Our revised plans have The 5 and Quiznos scheduled to open Spring 2010. View renderings of the new space at [LSU Dining](http://www.lsudining.com).

I called that one a while ago… Scheduled for spring 2010, means if it opens by 2012, consider it a miracle.

The Dining Halls, Student Union, and Dorms will all be done just in time for graduation 2014. You will get to enjoy them as an alumnus.

I’m really starting to wonder if this a construction delay or a funding problem.

LOL LSUGuy, I actually thought for a little while that The 5 would be done on time. Thank God I’m not living in the pentagon (as a sophomore I REALLY shouldn’t be, but I almost had to). I would hate having to go across campus to use my meal plan.

I really was looking forward to having a quiznos :(
