Some school strongly discourage any supplemental material at all, while others encourage it. If you can’t find the information online, be safe and call the school and ask if supplemental material is allowed.</p>
<p>As far as guitar supplements, I don’t think your choice of instrument would hurt you chances, provided that the school allows the supplement to begin with.</p>
