The AP Physics B Study Thread

Hey.

I'm taking the test on Monday, and I'm feeling pretty good after poring over the Princeton Review for hours on end. My last remaining area of unease is significant figures. Does anybody know how strict the readers are in general about sig figs on the free response section? Is it better to err on the side of more digits, or less? Do the readers even care remotely? I just want to make sure I don't mess up something small over and over and get ten points docked unnecessarily.

Thanks,
IndigoRock13

Do all answers on the Free Response need to be in scientific notation?

I think the readers look at the first two decimal places only.

It doesn't matter if the answers are in scientific notation, but it does look better.

It's either right or wrong...it isn't like you're gonna get more points for doing something novel or odd.

Can I have 93 exam please? libri-crucis@satx.rr.com

I had another question.. I thought that 1/4 point is deducated for every wrong answer in the MC but my professor thinks otherwise and believes that there is no negative points. Is this true?

Sadly, your professor is mistaken on this point.

:(..............

anyone able to send me 99 MC answers i will hook them up with the whole 93 exam fo sho. So send me a PM or something

Thanks Lindsay.

Wazzup, it's 1/4 off for a wrong MC answer on the AP tests, the SAT IIs, and the SAT I. The only test I can think of offhand with no negative points is the ACT, unless they changed that when they added the essay...I hope not.

Does anyone have notes for the positions of them? All the positions. If so, please PM. Thanks =)

anyone have answers for 99, i can hook them up with the 93 exam.

I took the practice test in the Princeton Review and it was a breeze. Then this afternoon I just took the Physics B practice test in the 5 Steps To A 5 book with practice tests for 11 different subjects in it, and it was extremely difficult for me. Am I in trouble, or is 5 Steps To A 5 harder than the actual exam?

so...of those of you who have taken SAT II Phys, what did you guys think of it?

Ahhhh..... all I want is a 4 :(

I've been studying the rapid review sections of 5 Steps to a 5 and supplementing that with some example problems, online concepts/steps for each type of problem, and practice tests. I just hope I can finish covering the topics by tonight. Good luck everyone!!

-Jon

i wanted the 5 steps book, but the bookstores around here didn't have the physics one!

What % right do you need to get a 4?

and what percent for a 5? is it really 75%?

It's like 65% for a 4 and 75% for as 5.
i'm going to get a 2.

65% is only a 4?!?

Oh crap.
