akafizzle, you're just wrong. The word in french IS apprenti, and the plural is apprentis! Have you ever even studied the French language, you seem to know nothing about the plural form.

And are you saying that Randall represented a community accustomed to getting held back well by holding back a young woman when he had NOTHING TO LOSE?

I wouldn't exactly say that Rebecca did nothing. I would however say that she did nothing stupid. And calling this an inspiration for black America is a little bit over the edge. When Duke wins the NCAA tournament this year (huge Tar Heal fan, but we're in a rebuilding year and Duke has a great team this year), and their best player is a white guy (Redick), would you call that an "inspiration for white America?" And by saying that randal's victory shows African Americans that they "can make it out of the gutter too," you are implying that most African Americans are poor. If one of Michael Jordan's kids, who are probably each millionares, beat a white guy who had been born in a trailerpark and been an orphan, would that show "Black America" how they can make it out of the gutter? No. Sorry if this offends anyone, I guess that I did get a little too involved in watching this show.

Vyse you're right I was wrong. Apprentis is the plural form in French; my mistake. So Randal made a mistake...yet he is still the Apprentice and life goes on. I know Englishmen and Americans who cannot even speak proper English--their own native language. Especially on the news such as Lou Dobbs on CNN saying "There is American soliders coming home today..." It should be "There ARE" right? So theoneo keep quiet; I'm sure you've made elementary mistakes too and that comment you made earlier was childish and ignorant. If you admire the english language then you should definitely admire french because the english language was developed from latin, german, and FRENCH dialect. So don't say something like that again--it makes me think less of you. However I still feel like I'm speaking to bricks. None of you see the big picture. You all do not understand how hard it is for minorities to be successful as opposed to the majorities. Understand that it takes over the top credentials and status for a black man for example to attain coveted jobs. A white guy for example with mediocre stature for some reason still has the advantage to attain coveted jobs and opportunities. G Bush is not the best of best regarding high marks despite the schools he attended and has a criminal record. Yet he is our commander in chief today. You think a black guy could do that? It took two degrees from MIT and distinction as a Rhodes Scholar in Oxford for Randal to win. So calling Randal's win an inspiration is not over the edge. Metsfan, there is no analogy between your example and my example. You don't compare that to something more sensitive.

I truly don't understand how it could possibly be more difficult for an African American person to suceed than for a white person. Yes, maybe there are a few racist old men at the heads of some companies. However, college-wise, getting accepted to a top college is much less difficult if one is a minority. The same with gaining scholarships. Just a few examples of this are National Achievement Scholarships and whatever scholarships the United Negro College Fund gives (what a racist name by the way). As for George Bush, he is the president because people voted for him.

I'm not talking about college. I'm talking about employment after college. And the example of G Bush...don't you see the irony? A DUI convict being the President of the U.S.

As I said earlier, Randal's win was just a moment for him and his people given that he is the first black to be the Apprentice. His decision had nothing to do with his ego or his character. Let's leave it at that. I don't want to stir up racial controversy because I sincerely crave an end to it.

Judging from the demeanor that Randall exudes, I'm extremely surprised by the decision that he took by not giving the opportunity to Rebecca. If she had been hired, I guarantee that she would have given him a break. But I can't help but to think that there's some bigger picture besides selfishness that influenced Randall to make his decision. He has been known to maneuver himself carefully in the business world, as was demonstrated by his tactful purchases of the megaphones in one of the previous tasks. In perspective of his career, by allowing Rebecca to be on par with him, he fails to receive the exclusive camaraderie of Trump . This, in turn, will lead to a series of comparisons which could potentially sever his reputation in Trump's eyes and jeopardize his career. Moreover, it's not like life is over for Rebecca. She 23 years old and will probably receive a ridiculous amount of job offers in the near future.

Speaking of Bush, I completely disagree with giving him any credit whatsoever for earning his way into the American Presidency. He is after all the byproduct of a series of Republican antics, an elitist family, and might I say a genetically inherent language disability. Anyone with half a brain can clearly see that the only reason he was able to attend Yale and Harvard business school was because of his father. No one ever seems to mention his innate ability to run corporations into bankruptcy, his embarrassing idiosyncracies, and his tactful wooing of the American public to believe that we are fighting a war in Iraq with our precious soldiers in order to free an oppressed people and reveal Saddam Hussein's stash of WMD's. So where are these weapons of mass destruction I ask? Last time I even heard about that in the news was about a year ago. So are we as the American Public not even sure why we're there? Oh wait! I believe the most recent message is that our soldiers are there to create a new and safe government for the long oppressed people of Iraq. But come on, since when did we start caring about other people? If we truly cared about people, we would be taking actions to prevent the genocide that has been and still is happening in Africa. American foreign intervention is sadly purely economic or concerned with our overwhelming lust for sustaining our coveted position as the leaders of the free world. Anyone ever heard of the famous Halliburton contracts? Most of all, I am dissapointed by Bush running his political platform on a basis of religion and ethics. By doing so, he so wrongly gained the support of so many Americans. Ladies and gentlemen, our president is a dumb@$$. God Bless the United States of America. Godspeed to our soldiers and pray that they may safely return to their families.

Both Randal and Rebecca were outstanding candidates. I'm happy Randal won, I would have also been happy had Rebecca won. I was a bit surprised at Randal's decision, but he was really put in a bad spot by the Donald, who should have known better. Donald, for asking a question on live TV for which you do not already know the answer, YOU'RE FIRED!

I don't believe race has anything to do with this. Randal WAS the better of the 2. He would've been hired even if he's white. Rebecca was never totally AWESOME to me. The leg thing was a bit too much, I mean, Randall's grandmother died. Shouldn't that count more than Rebecca's broken ankle?

Rebecca's succinct loyalty and work ethic got her there in my opinion, which apparently is good enough for Mr. Donald Trump. However, I was really impressed with her leadership and management in her last task with Yahoo! I thought she handled that very well. And she can handle pressure very well, which is another awesome trait DT admires. Nevertheless, after Randal's first performance as PM, I knew he was destined to win. Only Alla was going to be his distinct competition so I thought.
