The Apprentice

Show is pretty good, I haven't been able to watch this season because classes schedule. The Donald is a classic example of selling himself greatly. Most of his Manhattan properties are golden, but most of his Atlantic City casinos and his casinos across America are going bankrupt. All he does is finangle with some creditors and BOOM problem fixed. He has attached a certain mystique to the Trump name. They do ask those kind of questions in interviews by the way. My favorite is "What do you like least about yourself?" That is so not a fair question.

I think, after watching the show, and seeing the range of opinions on Jen here, that this show is a further example of the double standard for "strong, aggressive" women. Don't get me wrong, I am a conservative. I don't think women the world over are oppressed, put-upon, etc. If anything, affirmative action applied to gender helps them, a lot.
But, I will even concede, when a women is strong, conviction-filled, and tough, she sounds like a complete and total bitch. When a guy sounds like that, he is admired for toughness and courage (unless he's GWB.)
I don't believe that Hillary Clinton will ever be President, simply because she sounds like such a bitch when interviewed or making speeches. It's unfortunate that things are this way; I wonder if anyone else understands what I am talking about?

The winner of the Apprentice is a UCLA alum. He got his JD and MBA from UCLA. He beat out all those other school grads.

Go Bruins!!!

Donald Trump is so successful because not only does he have business savvy, but he also knows how to read people extremely well. It's like one of those veteran admissions officers at a college that can read the whole applicant through the essay and interview.

I can't stand Donald Trump and his gaudy behavior. Like people say, he wants you to believe he's one of the richest people in the world, but really he is far from it. I wish NBC did a show like "The Apprentice" with a true business genius like Warren Buffett, THEN I would watch!!

ya his true wealth is sketchy. at one point his net worth was negative $60 mil. and he drives a crappy e class benz. i dont htink i would want to be him or have his life.

Hahahaha. That's got to be the funniest thing I have ever heard! I have to agree that he inflates his wealth somewhat, but still he has at least one billion in net worth, so that EASILY puts him as one of the richest in the world. He's probably in the top .0000000001% or something. Just for you I will go to the library and get the Forbe's magazine and prove it to you.

I have that issue ;)

Yes he is suuuuuuper rich to us, but if we are speaking from the top 500 richest people in world standpoint, he's like a Arizona State to a Harvard.

Well let's see, he's #209 on Forbe's list of richest people. So according to US News, Bill Gates is Harvard and Donald Trump is somewhere around University of Hawaii – Manoa.

hahahahah nice comparisons

jennifer,, god, i hated that woman,, she's completely useless, stupid and full of tricks in terms of dealing with enemies. ivana can be a great employee, she's smart in giving ideas but a lousy leader, i actually thougth kelvin/ andy should be the winner, kelly, psh.. he just had all the luck in teh world, i didn't see anythign special in him, kelvin is a true winner in my heart tho, andy might be a bit too immature but hey,, donald loved him ;)

Well there you go, I was pretty off haha ;)

Pamela, who was fired in season 2, is very smart. She got an MBA from Harvard and started her own software company. 3 years ago, when it was just starting, my dad took it over, and Pam couldn't face the fact that my dad was in power of her baby. My dad said "You're fired!" and she went to the apprentice. She's doing well now though because of the publicity.

Any of you guys watch season 3 last night? How'd you like it? I'm not enjoying it so far. Not liking what I'm seeing. Perhaps I just need time to adjust to these new faces. The candidates are pretty damn different from season two's. Check out their profiles:

True, attending a more prestigious university doesnt guarantee success or anything, and I agree that street smarts can be way more successful than book smarts. But so far season 3's candidates' lack of abilities is really obvious. I don't see much organizational skills, cooperation, creativity, leadership, etc. lol maybe I should wait a couple of weeks before I start judging them(AGAIN)...if i could stand them, that is.

yeah i agree, those book-smarts are not some "top-notch" school graduates,, they seemed too dumb in the show compare to the street smart. anyway,, trump seemed to like those street smart ppl, but didn't seem comfortable with them at the dinner.

hahahah yea that one guy kept cussing and Donald Trump looked at him all funny.

crazyforee: I agree completely. I can't help but think the producers intentionally picked "not so great" college grads just be make the "plot" more exciting (as in the high school grads coming out on top often). Sigh....I expected more top school grads in the "book smarts" group....but I guess we'll see how this season pans out.

They tried to make Season 3 more interesting/exciting by making it different, but this is going overboard...
