<p>It's okay to be fat, folks. We have an unhealthy obsession with losing weight, it's getting ridiculous. People say that Americans have obesity problems, but when I look around my lunchroom everyone is eating tiny saladS... I actually think the opposite is starting to become true. People are torturing themselves to lose extra pounds.</p>
<p>actually being fat is really unhealthy(see "super size me"), but you are right a normal thick person is fine.</p>
<p>Sorry about that, replace "fat" with "overweight". Lots of people use the BMI calculator and say, "Oh my god, it says I'm obese!" But that's not true, everyone has their own healthy weight, I resent the fact that there is a preset weight for being "healthy". It just drives people to do crazy things in order to lose enough pounds to fall into the supposedly healthy range of weight.</p>

<p>I'm sorry, but I don't think we should be posting this sort of thing. I've spent the last two years battling different eating disorders, I'm seeing a therapist and psychiatrist about depression because of it (or it triggered the ED, we're not sure). I'm not kidding. Today's culture is far too obsessed with weight, and it lands girls like me in hospitals from malnourishment.</p>

<p>Seriously, I have lost around 13 lbs since i last posted..and im still not in my "target weight range" according to the doctors. I think if i lost 10 more lbs, I would be disgustingly skinny and i feel a bit bad for ppl like some of yall who weigh like, nothing. i feel better about myself now that i weigh less, but it has never defined me as a person. i loooveee my rapidly skinny-ing body though :D<br>

<p>Ok, this thread does not even make any sense, what is the point of averaging everyone's weight and what exactly does that have to do with academics, which I am assuming is the point of this whole forum. It is really pretty amazing/sad that there are this many posts on such a pointless issue. Even if you wanted to make an accurate average, how could you if you are averaging both girls and boys? We all know that boys have more muscle mass, so they weigh more than girls anyway.</p>
