I don't think CC is skinnier than average; I think only skinny people are posting. I can't imagine someone who is overweight and very conscious of it posting it on the internet like this.

I have two theories on this. One, like Zante said, this thread is obviously very self-selecting in the same what that applicant pools to very selective schools are self-selecting. Two, many overachievers in academics often happen to be overachievers in other areas of their life. They want a nice body just like they want good grades, and have the work ethic to achieve it. Also, a lot of overachievers tend to be active (we could get into the whole "educational level/intelligence = knowing that exercise is important" thing here) and participate in sports teams to round out their applications/enjoy leadership/etc. etc.

My mom told me I'm fat. I feel sad :( I agree with the above,

I don't consider myself fat and like gracilisae said, I am very active (most of the time..it's not cross country season..dont' bother me lol) but I still don't feel comfortable posting my weight online, esp if people I know read this site.

I'm 5'7" and 105 pounds, 170 cm and 47 kg.

I agree with what gracilisae said about "They want a nice body just like they want good grades, and have the work ethic to achieve it." because that pretty much fits my view on it and why I have my current body.

In reference to Estayr's post above..
is that why in boarding school applications they ask for your height and weight?!

5'9.5" 108lbs.
Same as a lot of people. Crazy metabolism, and I'm a dancer.

i thought i was really skinny...
5' 8" usually somewhere between 135 and 140 lbs.

i eat like crazy and run and/or lift almost every day.

I think everyone here is really skinny because they're all too busy studying and with ECs and they forget to eat. My theory.

blinks most people here sound so skinny I start to feel as if I'm more fatter than I originally thought I am. ^_^

"I think everyone here is really skinny because they're all too busy studying and with ECs and they forget to eat. My theory."

A good theory. :P

I'm actually 5'3, 110.

5'6" 128 lbs. I guess thats kind of bulky for a CCer. I'm a tennis player = big legs.

5'8", 135 lbs. And -- believe it or not -- I wear a size 1. (Gotta be the weightlifting!)

5'3''
around 110 lbs
and i probably appear fatter
ahhh!

smart ones... you forgot to take SEX into account ...that makes a big difference lol...

Anyways:

Male
6'
175lbs
4.4% bodyfat (measured with skin calipers by wrestling coach)

Five nine, one eighty. Haha, I remember back when I played sports and was skinny. That was a funny, funny thing.

"They want a nice body just like they want good grades, and have the work ethic to achieve it."

This obviously isn't the whole answer, but I think it may be partly true. I go to a prep school with a lot of really intense people, and they are certainly skinnier than average, and those who aren't tend to lose weight once they're here (except me, who gained a ton of it). I mean, this may just be a reaction to the dining hall food, but...

@anticatalyst: People could be reacting differently to the stressful environment. Some behaviors people adopt under pressure cause weight loss and others gain.

5'4 and 140, and this is the first time in my life I'm actually working out and I'm gaining weight :D

6 feet, 210 pounds!

Whooo!!! Go fat people!

5'3"
117 lbs

I wear a size three usually. And most of my weight is not muscle, it's fat. (27% body fat! Shocking! haha) I'm okay with it though. I could stand to lose some fat and put on some muscle, but I'm not morbidly obese or anything. Plus, I do yoga so at least I'm flexible.

5'3'', 110 lbs

:O Whoa how you know your percentage of body fat? >/ [Is curious] :] I run everyday. x] Mostly muscles I guess. :[ xP
