Gave 5 clean, gently used sleeping bags to a group that serves the homeless population. Three big bags of clothing are heading to a church sale this weekend. Went through school/craft supplies, threw a bunch of stuff away and will be donating another boxful.
I still have a lot to do, but making progress.

Uh oh.

So when we moved two years ago, I made an executive decision without consulting DH. He had a poster that he had had framed during his bachelor years. The glass was cracked and the poster had water damage. I tossed it.

Guess what heās looking for now. I feel terrible, and I donāt have the heart to fess up.

VHāDO NOT! Just say how you will also lookāthen doānothing good will come of your confession.
It is actually kinder to your H to just be confused than to lose some of his life over anger

VH, just keep looking. If your hubby is like Mr B, he will eventually forget about it. :)

Actually, Iāve been looking online for the poster, figuring that Iāll get a new one and fess up at the same time. I havenāt yet been able to find the exact poster, however. I continue to search. :)>-

I am becoming pessimistic about finding the poster. After two long-ish sessions on line looking for it, I havenāt been able to find it. :-S

āOh honey. I know we had it at the old place. Do you remember packing it? Hate to suggest this, but maybe the movers lost it.ā

Also, āyou know now that you mention it I havenāt seen it since the move.ā

Just logged on to chime in with the donāt tell him crowd. No good can come of that. Make a good show of looking and move on. Things happen.

Yep. I wouldnāt tell either.

Maybe buy him a replacementānot the same poster (even if you could find it) but something new that you think he would like.

maybe if you tell us what it is one of might have one in our storage room:)

Doā¦notā¦ tell. Life happens.
and just letting him think itās around somewhere is okay. Were you REALLY going to hang it up after umpteen years? No. Canāt do anything anyways. Skip it. Really skip it.
If the question resurfacesāfind a great similar replacement (so youāre the heroine) but really, let it dieā¦itās the kind thing to doā¦

Shhhhh. My DH has ten (yes 10) Rubbermaid bins in our garage filled with science fiction paper back books. The bins havenāt been opened in over 15 years. Iām going to empty them this yearā¦and really, I canāt imagine DH will notice until we move.

Adding to the choir, VH. Just keep looking. That poster is āsomewhereā. Oh well if you canāt find it.

Youāre all suggesting that I do exactly what Iām going to do, but you do all realize youāre suggesting I tell a āmis-truthā to my spouse, right??

I find it odd that I canāt find this poster anywhere on the internet. Itās by a famous Japanese artist, and when I google him, lots pops up, but not this particular poster.

We recently reframed a beloved print. When we went to the framers, my H brought along a poster Iād forgotten - and dislike. A lot. Early 80ās stylized surf art. Had I known where it was stored I would have ālostā it! He insisted on framing it though I protested that we had no place for it, other than the garage. Lo and behold - it is the one piece of art in our sonās new place. Everyoneās happy, and itās out of my house!

VeryHappy, do you know you can do a āsaved searchā (orsomething like that - not sure of the exact name) on Ebay, and they will send you an email every time an item matching your search term(s) gets listed? I have been looking for 2 āblast from the pastā type items for a long time, and just know that ebay will have them eventually!

@MomCat2, Yes, I do know how to do that. (I have a saved search for my great grandmotherās sterling pattern, which I collect.) Good idea. Although it seems to be so rare I donāt know if this particular poster will ever pop up. Canāt hurt.

Iām still in this club. Iām quite sure Iāve averaged a bag a weekā¦which is scary to be honest! My hose doesnāt seem that cluttered! I think I should up my contributions to two a week soon. I just donāt need all the stuff I have!

I might get a bag in this weekend! I have two weeks until surgery and would love to take care of the linen closet and finish the coat closet before the big event. I also have a few things I want to throw away before surgery because, frankly, I donāt want them to be found if something were to happen and I didnāt return homeā¦lol. There are just some things that my children donāt need to know I ever owned.

@2016BarnardMom, that sounds intriguing. Care to share??
