I just found out that I got chosen for the fall travel grant, which means that I get to go to the Discover Wellesley Weekend event (yay!). Is anyone going this year??? Also, for anyone that has attended in previous years, would you care to share details about the experience? Thanks! :)

congratulations! My sisters and I (we are triplets) will be going to the weekend via the travel grant as well. I’m sure it’ll be fun!

Congratulations to all 3 of you as well! It sure seems fun, have you heard anything about it?? I’ve looked up some posts from people who have gone, but there isn’t much detail. Thanks for replying! :)

thanks! you’re welcome I looked at wellesley’s website, and they have a pretty detailed itinerary from last year’s weekend- I don’t know if you’ve seen it but here is the link: [Special Visit Programs | Wellesley College](Open Campus Programs | Wellesley College)
if we are scheduled for departure around the same time as last year, then it looks like we could have some free time to roam around the campus and Boston!! (if they have a bus going there)
should we start a facebook group?

Thanks, that’s the same link I’ve been using too. I was hoping that we would have some time to wander so that we’ll get a chance to get a feel for the environment around there. I’ve read a lot of posts from current students/alumni and they say that there’s a bus that goes from the college into Boston, although it’s a forty minute ride. I think it would be great to start a Facebook group that way we can maybe see who will be attending this year! :)

I made one! It is called Discover Wellesley Weekend 2013

Congratulations! That is the same one we are attending! :D

Congrats on your attending Discover Wellesley Weekend 2013! If you have some down time, you could start just by walking into the Ville (basically downtown Wellesley). Although it’s mostly shops, there’s also the public library, town hall, an ice cream store, and other places that serve as nearby resources for students. And yes, it does take at least 40 minutes to get into Boston, depending on time of day, so take that into consideration.

Have fun!

Thank you, that sounds absolutely adorable!

I got the travel grant too! Is anyone else traveling alone? I am because my parents can’t afford the plane ticket. I’m kind of nervous!!

Also did someone really make a fb group? I couldn’t find it…

I’m travelling alone as well! I’m also a bit nervous because I’ve never flown before! As for the Facebook group, one hasn’t been created yet as far as I know; I’ve been wondering if we should make one though?

Okay, I created a Facebook group just now! If you just search “Discover Wellesley Weekend 2013” it should show up! :)

I’ve flown plenty of times before, just not alone. Let’s hope it goes smoothly since I have connecting flights and such I think I’m more nervous about going on a college trip all by myself! Hopefully it will go well :)

Hey ladies I can’t find the fb group. Is there any chance you could just add me? :)

I never found the group, either… Did you make sure it’s an open group?

I just registered today! Extremely excited (:

Hey I’m going to the Discover Wellesley Weekend too!
Is there a facebook group? I couldn’t find one

Okay, sorry everyone! I discovered that the reason no one could find the group is because I accidentally set it as private so only.those directly invited could see it. So I fixed it and now you should be able to find it by searching for “Discover Wellesley Weekend 2013” Sorry for all of the confusion (and for taking so long to reply)! :)

I can’t find the Facebook group when I search for it… Still private perhaps?

Hmm, well someone else joined it so I thought it was public? But I will make sure right now! :)
