I'm taking the SAT on Saturday, and I'm having a problem. I've hit a brick wall when it comes to my score. Every time I miss about 4 questions per section, leaving me with a measly 620 for both CR and Math. I can usually look the answer and immediately understand, but I just wish I could get the right answer the first time. The CR questions I miss are typically passage questions, since I'm good at sentence completions. On the Math section it's the theoretical questions I have trouble with. Is there a way to get over this barrier? My goal is a 720 CR, 720 Math, and 750 Writing.

bump......

you have two days left. you should have asked this question a long time ago. right now, just pray that by some miracle you will get those questions right. it is mostly practice and seeing the patterns that arise. I doubt that one can do that in two days but its worth a try.

analyze very carefully why you got the question wrong. and after 5+ Cr sections you will see where you are messing up. and try to correct that.

for me, all of the questions i get wrong on CR (which is about 2-3 per section), i have two choices that make sense and i pick the wrong one. my pattern is to go against my gut feeling which works out for me.

Well, I've been prepping for nearly a year, but I just have a few kinks to iron out yet. I'm still hoping that miracle comes.

I've done a little bit of looking into this, and it seems that the SAT doesn't want you making inferences. They teach students to do that in English, on the SAT it seems that the correct answers are always that ones that are more or less blatantly stated in the passage. I'm still not sure exactly what to do on math, but I'll think of something.

Thanks for the reply!
