Ok! Apart from me, who else is eagerly awaiting their rejection from Haas?

Am i really at that big of a disadvantaged because i did not complete my pre-req prior to spring. I'v completing 3 right now in the spring quarter. The reason for this is because ive always thought i would apply as a poli sci major so my courses has always been gear tours that major. However, when i fond out cal offers a legal studies major, i only had a year to complete the pre reqs, so thats why ive a bit behind.

QUESTION: I have read on the Berkeley website that applicants need a minimum of a 3.0 to apply to the L&S department, but I have also read that they admit a handful of students with a lower gpa. Does Berkeley provide some flex room with this gpa or are those admits with under a 3.0 from another department??

Thanks in advance!

any other language majors out there waiting for berkeley?

Torrance: I replied because someone said Cal just updated the MyBerkeleyApp page with the CalNet login button, but in reality, it has been there since the day we could fill out the MyBerkeleyApp forms. It shows up underneath the area where we enter our application ID and password. And no, I can't see the CalNet login AFTER logging into MyBerkeleyApp - doesn't sound like anyone can.

It is kind of sad that we don't have any Cal theories. It was funny reading all of the UCLA theory messages.

Why is it better to have pre-reqs done prior to spring semester? I thought UC allowed us to take pre-reqs during spring, but not summer, prior to transfer...so why wouldn't they at least admit with conditions? Otherwise, what is the point of filling out the additional app with planned/in-progress courses? I'm taking one pre-req right now, social science major (geography).

Dearly beloved and that girl too, I don't think it matters at all that you're completing three pre-reqs this spring - i myself am finishing two. The only way I think it would affect your chances of admissions is if you are completing the vast majority of pre-reqs during the spring, thereby not giving berkeley any indication of how you well you'll do with your intended major. But I think it's to be expected that we're still finishing our pre-reqs - I have several friends at Berkeley who aren't even going to be done with their lower-div courses by their junior year. Basically what it comes down to is the fact that Berkeley doesn't want us transfers filling up lower-div courses, so I feel as long as you finish the pre-reqs before transferring you should be fine and it won't put us at a disadvantage.

Well, I saw a couple of people getting rejected from LA and they were taking a handful of the prereqs during Spring. When I saw those cases, I knew for sure it was over for me.

I'm currently taking 3 for CAL, and had taken 1 during Winter... so they can only form my major GPA from 3 classes out of 4. 4.0 gpa from 3 classes doesn't say much..

My major only has three pre-reqs, one of which I took in fall 07. I'm going to stop worrying so much about it, I think...

ahhhh only 3.5 more days. now i'm getting a little nervous, even though i'm so expecting to get rejected.

Would you be happy with being admitted for Spring '09 if you have your heart set on going to Berkeley?

I'm asking everyone, btw.

Thanks. I just wanted to note that I do believe if you get admitted for spring you are able to take classes in the fall through some sort of fall extension program.

Ok! Apart from me, who else is eagerly awaiting their rejection from Haas?

3more days for Cal! yey

I think for NOW I have come to terms with the fact that no matter how much I stress out it's not going to make decision day come any faster or affect the decision. I'm a lot calmer than I have been in the last few days. We'll see if this mood lasts until the evening of April 30th.

88 more hours until UCB decision.

how many units have you guys been taking each semester at cc? Mine: 17, 21, 22, 20. Just curious :-)

19, 16, 21, 13

I think I took 12, 16, 8, 18, 12. That is two fall semesters, two springs, and a summer. I wanted to spread it out so I didnt have really heavy schedules.
