Lawrenceville Is The Best Class Of 2010

Lawrenceville Class of 2010...have to agree.

Why do think Lawrenceville is best class of 2010? Do you have any concrete evidence?

I think they were more showing class/school spirit. There's no such thing as concrete evidence when it comes to determining the best schools, because no one can agree on what concrete evidence determines which school is the best.

Where does St. Andrew's in Delaware rank? I know it's a really good school...

Tenth.....

What about Episcopal in Virginia?
Where is that ranked?

Thirtyfirst...

Keep in mind...that if you go to Groton, Hotchkiss, Deerfield, Andover, Exeter or St. Paul's and don't do something spectacular with your life or career you will have a lot of explaining to do at your class reunion...assuming you have the guts to go. Highly prestigious institutions create an expectation of tremendous results. Make sure you that you are willing to shoulder these expectations or have a big enough trust fund to guarantee some measure of financial success.

i looked at andover, exeter, milton, SPS, groton, deerfield and choate

hated milton
in order,

sps is 2nd

BB&N is a terrific school, but I find Nobles EXTREMELY overated. They certainly have and outstanding athletic program and very gifted athletes but their academics sub-par. I looked at the school but didn't apply--it seemed like scholarship wasn't their top priority.

You HATED Milton? I found it to be a really warm, inclusive place where pretty much everyone is bright.

Purpoisepal1, it's true that some unintelligent kids get into the elite private schools simply because mommy and daddy donated a gym, convocation center, underground airport, etc. However, there are many kids who get in based on their intelligence and talent. So don't judge.

"I am not sure if I have ever seen a more blatantly retarded statement in my life. No one cares where you went to HS, maybe your friends you met there will, but no one else. All that matters is where you go to college from there. I go to one of those elite new england preps schools and plenty of kids go Ivy and plenty go to **** schools, and will not end up successful. When you pick HS factor in college placement it is one of the most important factors. Its still high school and its really not that special in regards to building "character or ethos" in regards to most other high schools. High school is what you make of it, but college is far far more important in the scheme of your life. How often do you ask someone 25+ where they went to HS, hmmm not much. Yet college? All the time. Think about it"

It really depends on who you are. If you would like to socialize with people from all over then college does indeed matter more, however to the people who traditionally went to Elite NE Prep Schools the HS mattered moreso than college because they could tell your social class.

I know that nowadays most people who got to Prep Schools aren't like that, but you cannot make such a broad statement.

tohabr, I'm not sure what your actual POINT is. Can you clarify in less than 3 paragraphs please?

"I know that nowadays most people who got to Prep Schools aren't like that, but you cannot make such a broad statement."

I think that pretty much sums up what she/he is trying to say. Try reading next time "genius" child.

I was just saying that he should not generalize and make such a broad statement. Maybe that is true to him.

thanks istoleyyournose.
