The Cal Bar

If your in GOOD STANDING then everything is fine.

If you aren't in GOOD STANDING then you have got some GPA issues my friend such as probation.

thank you!

hmmm..when do u begin choosing your dorms (spring admit, no FPF)
wait first u submit ur SIR,
can u choose ur dorms RIGHT AWAY?

Choose?

In UCLA, dorms choose you!

Seriously though, you'll have a dorm assigned to you, young padawan.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I was wondering what it takes to transfer from L&S to the COE. More specifically, to study Industrial Engineering.

I was looking to see if anybody has some statistics about how many people successfully transfer. Or information about the GPA needed, etc?

A friend of mine switched from L&S (undeclared) to COE (IEOR) without much difficulty. He stayed in L&S for his first year and maintained a 3.7 GPA, which shouldn't be impossible to do.

Is there an international studies major? I searched under the college of letters and science, but couldn't find any..

There is no international studies major per se, but there is the International and Area Studies Teaching Program which offers 7 different majors.

Their website: http://ias.berkeley.edu/iastp2006/Programs.asp

I asked this question elsewhere on CollegeConfidential discussion but nobody answered so I'm posting it here again :P

Apparently I have to submit my Intent to Register on myBerkeleyApp online BEFORE I get to view my Conditions for Admission?! Could somebody please tell me Cal's Conditions for Admission (undergrad, college of letters and sciences) so that I can decide whether to actually accept Cal's offer? It would be especially helpful if you take GCE A Levels like I do, but please answer even if you don't take those. Thanks!!

you got an answer on your first post. Don't flood the boards! And when you said "nobody answered"...that's because its only been like 5 minutes!

Ah yes, my mistake - just checked carefully again and there IS a reply. Thanks for letting me know!

do ppl call berkeley mostly UCB or Cal?
i personally prefer UCB...but i see Cal everywhere...I don't even know why it is called Cal. Enlightened me please?

Because it is the oldest and first campus of the system. It was originally THE University of California.

so call it whatever you want.

oh interesting fact..ok

Quick Question:

Does the paid Cal parking permit give you a spot in a parking lot or just allow you to impossibly find space around campus?

it only allows you to hunt for parking

Cal parking permit lets you have the ability to attempt to find parking at one of the campus parking lots. Most of them are filled usually. The exceptions are probably the two lots on Hearst in North Side.

what is the importance of Cal receptions?

I was wondering what it takes to transfer from CNR to the COE. I want to get into the Bioengineering major. Is it impacted and are there any other alternative majors that you might suggest?
