Does anyone here want to hop on a wagon to Oregon? What stats do you want for your characters?

Haha, I loved this game so much! I used to play it all the time in 2nd grade!

I'm not sure that I remember it too well, though... what do you mean, stats? I only remember shooting buffalo =P

lol - stats are really just people's ages. ^_^ It would be awkward for everyone to be 15-18 :p

In that case, I'd like to be 1337 years old.

really? I'd never want to live past 85 years old

edit: but don't hold me to that. i'm sure i'll swear i never said such a thing when i'm 84!

does anyone want to die of cholera?

or who wants to die of drowning?

Oregon Trail 3 was weird - I had people die of bad colds and I never had people die of cholera :p. Ugh - Oregon Trail is one of those games I want to reverse engineer

lol, i just started playing that again after i found it in an old CD Rom case.

unfortunately, I've have 3 people die of unexpected cholera, even after administering laudamun.

stats: adventurer, former doctor, 25 year old, w/ conestooga wagon
(i don't remember the rest)

LMFAO - you don't administer laudamun to treat cholera. You have to increase fluid + salt intake (in Oregon Trail III). In Oregon Trail II, increase rations then IMMEDIATELY REST.

Oregon Trail II and III have very nice online game manuals - I looooved reading those :D

oops ;) just thought it would alleviate the pain

btw, does anyone know which oregon trail version allows you to steer the wagon when you have to ford the river?
(I have version 2, i know , it's really old), so it must be a newer one

I think I need to start playing Oregon Trial...

lol, I wish I could fins a version for macs.
I loved that game.

Oregon Trail 3 allowed you to steer the wagon. But it was really glitched for some reason (they didn't develop that part very well)

I had Amazon Trail, too. It was made by the same people as Oregon Trail was.... I got it on the back of a Life cereal box!

It wasn't quite as good as Oregon Trail... but it was decent! =)

I tried to play amazon trail. I got it from the library, but my computer was always too old. oregon trial was one of the few games that worked on that thing.

OH MAN!! I used to play reader rabbit. THat game owned, no way around that.

I totally loved playing Reader Rabbit. It kicked major a$$. lol

My oxen always died when I crossed the river in Oregon Trail. They really need to learn how to swim..... :(

I had Reader Rabbit!!! Wow, I totally forgot about that game =)

My siblings used to play Oregon Trail. I always thought it was a game for old people :D I wish I had played Oregon Trail now.

Never played Reader Rabbit, but I did play Math Rescue a lot. And Word Rescue. My parents got us a lot of educational games. And we got a lot of free shareware games from various places, like the free version of Biomenace, and Jill of the Jungle, and Doom, and Scorched Earth. And a really buggy version of SAngband, after I figured out what all the letters were...

I miss the old days of side-scrollers. Now 3D-graphics are the big thing. I could never stand 3D interfaces, they were usually really hard to control. Then again, my preference is ASCII art. :p
