@MYOS1634@Falcon1 Thank you Right now I’m leaning toward UVa, but Michigan is also a great school. Although my best friend is going to Michigan State and comes from a big family of Michigan State supporters so I’m sure she’ll love it
My impression is that if anything you applied to too many schools as it is. I think that may have come across in your application, especially in your supplemental essays. But it sounds like you will have some strong options, with hopefully more to come.
@renaissancedad Thank you!! Yeah, there are some schools I probably shouldn’t have applied to. After I was rejected from Penn and deferred from Michigan, I was like “oh my god I don’t want to go to Northeastern. I don’t want to see so many kids from my high school! I need to apply to every school ever!” @ anyone reading this thread who hasn’t applied to college yet, bad idea. Try not to panic like I did. Your fingernails will thank you.
It’s sad, but… you have amazing acceptances!
And if you get off the waitlist in May, you can still go there. But by then you may have fallen in love with the school you deposited at
@MYOS1634 Thank you! I am going into business, so Michigan and UVa would be the best options, but I hate snow and the cold so I don’t know if I would want to go to Michigan. I also like UCLA but they don’t have undergraduate business but I really want to live in a city and I really like warm weather so I’m kinda conflicted. I will most likely be going to UVa.
@emilyskates Congrats on the great acceptances. Don’t let the cold chase you away from UM. Ross is amazing and Ann Arbor is a great town. You haven’t really mentioned money but that might help you narrow down your choices. UCLA won’t give you any aid if it matters. USC is pretty good with aid too and the b-school has a great reputation if you want to stay out west. Earthquakes aren’t that big of a deal. I’ve been out here for 20 years and been through at least 10 noticeable ones. The first couple are terrifying but it gets easier every time.
Thank you for posting your journey, it is a great read. You have some awesome options. Congrats!
Have you thought about where you want to live after you graduate? The school more local to that area will give you more connections/internships/recruiting power for that area.
For UCLA, did you apply for Business Economics or Economics? Economics is a good solid flexible major. You could do Economics with an Accounting minor, also. As I am sure you have seen, UVA/Michigan/UCLA are pretty similar in quality as graduate institutions for business, incidentally. I presume you would have access to some classes at Anderson as an undergrad.
@gluttonforstress I live in upstate NY so I’m quite sick of the cold and snow haha. I don’t qualify for FA so money is not really a factor.
@inn0v8r I think I applied for Business Economics. I think I want to live on the East Coast, preferably in NYC, so I guess that’s all the more reason to choose UVa.
