I am a senior and would really like to attend TCNJ. I have visited the school three times, and have been in contact with the profs of the major I would like to pursue (special education.) I have fallen in love with this school! My SAT's are lower than the average 1300 for TCNJ ( I have a 570 on math and 640 on critical reading.) I have a 97% weighted gpa (my school doesn't do 4.0 scale), and I take AP classes. I hold a leadership position in the national honor society, do several extracurriculars, and do a lot of volunteer work. I applied ED. What are my chances of getting in?

I don't really know too much about their admissions, but you can try reposting this in the TCNJ forum under the Colleges & Universities Section. There should be people over there that can help you out. Best of luck!

Actually if you check out the statistics at their Common Data Set weblink:

and then go to section C9, you'll see that your Math score was approximately lower than 2/3rds of those accepted, but your reading score was approximately better than 3/5ths of those accepted. Based upon this, and your 3.7 GPA (the equivalent of a 97.0 score), you are almost exactly in the middle (or even slightly above) the normal range for those being accepted to TCNJ.

Thus, I would accept you to be accepted, especially as a ED applicant.

Best of success to you.

Wow, must be late--I said that your 97 is the equivalent of a 3.7, but that's not true, it is much higher--like the equivalent of a 4.2 weighted. (or about a 3.9).

Based upon this, I'm absolutely positive you will be accepted into TCNJ (well, unless you are applying for their medical school as a freshman--which they give to only 12 students per year)--but I doubt that is what you are applying for.

Anyway, congratulations on your great grades--and excuse my mistake above.

Thank you!

golf girl you look good! Def. competitive at TCNJ!
