<p>My daughter's grades dropped for a time during our divorce, which hurt her GPA and class rank. Her SAT test scores are great.</p>
<p>She is deciding whether to comment on it in the 'additional information' section of the Common Application.</p>
<p>Then we noticed that the Common Application asks if parents are divorce, and what the divorce date was.</p>
<p>Does this mean they will already have this information, so she doesn't need to comment? </p>
<p>Otherwise, why do they ask? It isn't part of a financial aid section, just the general applications.</p>
