it's alphabetically higher up. this signifies higher intelligence, abstract thinking, exisitensial understanding, transcendental processes, pysiobiologicalpseudoeuphemistcal comprehension

it has a higher acceptence rate. and a higher suicide rate. which rocks your princeton boat any time of day

it's not full of pretencious people! at least not yet, till i get there :-)

wow, that was probably the most pointless post I've ever read. Good job Princetonian, you understand percentages. You should be proud of yourself- that princeton education is really paying off.
As far as acceptance rates go, Cornell's IS higher than the other ivy league schools- I'm sure everyone on this forum knows that already. What's your point? I fail to see how that makes Cornell less desirable. Personally, I chose Cornell because it fits everything I want in a school. I pity you if your decision was based entirely on acceptance rates.

Actualy, our suicide rate is a little below the national average :) common myth that we have high suicide rate at Cornell U.
guys I would recommend just dropping this potential flame war with the Princeton guy. We all know it's a great school, and every one of my friends there knows that cornell is a great school, too. A Rankings difference...big whoop.

Also there's nothing really to say that cornell OR princeton has a better general undergrad program: the rankings measure a lot of related things, but the % of alumni donating or student to faculy ratio, etc. don't explicitly make one program better. All they really say is that both schools are excellent and incredibly highly respected in the professional and academic worlds, and that princeton is just slightly more respected.

The princeton kid is just trying to stir up some flames. If you respond to his attacks, this perfectly good thread will end up being shut down, etc. etc. You all know what the acceptance rates are, what the prestige level is, and what the negative stereotypes for each school (princeton and cornell) are. Throwing them back and forth at each other will make you all look stupid.

If the princeton kid cites something that's incorrect, go ahead and correct him for accuracy's sake (as I did with the suicide thing, even though that was by one of our own :D), but calling him stupid or throwing back some insult toward princeton will just make you look foolish too.

hahaha i actually knew the truth about the suicide thing. but the whole situation was so amusing, why not throw out one of the weird things i hear about cornell every day

some other things i've heard:

there was a pumpkin on the roof?
you have dragon day. i mean, what is dragon day, really. lol

dragon day is a cornell tradition freshmen architecture students do. they compete with engineer students to build the best dragon and parade it around the campus. later, they burn the dragon down and go crazy.

I thought that one of them built a dragon, and the other built some other sort of animal...but I may well be thinking of another school.
In that same vein, do you notice how much overlap there is in school traditions? Almost every school I've visited has had a rock that students paint (which I find rather lame). Only one school has a shrine to Doug Flutie though (Boston College)<< That is the standard by which I judge all other traditions/distinguishing factors.

I heard that last year Cornell released their decisions on the 10th (Friday.) So it's probably the 9th this year. Thursday would be great though. :)

I wish admission officer wont make mistakes on looking at my transcript since my transcript is organized in a pretty confusing way...esp for ppl with glasses...lol.............

GrkPrincetonain, you always seem to have something negative to say... why cant you just keep your comments to yourself... who cares how intellignet you might be if you are a rude, pompous... person

GrkPrincetonian, are you a student at Princeton? If not, I can't wait till you're rejected and I make a point of rubbing it in your arrogant, obnoxious face. :).

GrkPrincetonian - I agree that Princeton is a much more prestigious and overall a school of higher caliber than Cornell. However, your retardedness is making the school look bad. Stop it moron.
