no one from my school has ever been accepted to Harvard or Yale.

My school had one acceptance 6 years ago...probably none before that either. I've never heard of a yale.

We had I think three Harvard acceptees from the same graduating class three years ago. That class had like six or seven Ivy students. And we're talking about public school, class size about 275.

That's extremely atypical, though. My sister was the only Harvard acceptee two years ago and last year we didn't get any.

We had two last year and there's one athlete already in this year. So, considering I'm the only one besides that athlete to apply, maybe I can keep up the tradition and be the second one? fingers crossed

I kinda wish I was at Exeter. They send prolly around 10-15 kids to Harvard alone every year.

1 person at my school got into harvard like 10 years ago.

pretty much everyone just goes to UVA, W&M, or VA Tech.

I think my school's top university is Georgetown...

We had a Harvard acceptee two years ago, but she ended up at MIT (it was funny, they actually interviewed her in this article I found in the Crimson archives about pre-frosh weekend a couple of years ago :p But besides that, I can't think of anyone from my school who's been accepted to Harvard in quite a while. Last year our only Ivies (and Ivy-calibers) were one Brown and one Dartmouth (and one Columbia, but that was solely an athletic thing, I think). The year before we had the MIT, a Duke, and a UPenn, and then going back...we're skimping on the Ivies, lol.

last year we had 3 to harvard, which is abt regular if on the smaller side. the biggest ivy at my school is penn- around 20 got in last year. madness.

which makes everyone at my school think penn is so easy to get into, and thats not the case at all.

yale hardly ever takes anyone, the most was 3 a couple of years ago but that was odd.

Ummmm you go to private school, whenicomearound, right?

whenicomearound, what school?

we actually have so many Yale grads - prolly the biggest ivy in my school. OK, maybe Cornell. But Yale is def 2nd.

i dont feel comfortable saying that here.

buries head in sand

anyone else here seriously paranoid about being spotted by a classmate?

yeah i think itd be seriously embarassing

i spotted some kid from my school, but i doubt hes seen me

whenicomearound do you by any chance go to a school in new jersey

no.
this isnt 20 questions people ;)

Is your school a plant, animal, or mineral?

all of the above, obviously.

lol. well obviously its not my school. cuz we never have 20 ppl going to Penn. :(

we had one penn and one yale last year.

we had hmm...2 yale, 1 dartmouth last year...

we got two in dartmouth already. and i bet those aren't the last ones. i think dartmouth is gonna be top ivy for us THIS year.

i hated dartmouth when i visited them
