I can narrow it down even further - the surgery rotation is the single largest destroyer of souls and any semblance of happiness that might have once existed ;)

I second Icarus. I am not sure how times have changed with the limits on weekly work hours. When I rotated through surgery, I was reminded that they didn’t have to give me a day off. I was in at 0330 and off at 2300 and typically given an assignment for the next day, on call Q4 in addition to that, and pimped. Life just sucked. Although students need to learn about committing their time and efforts to the well-being of their patients. But strong limits need to be made.

surgery rotation, where everyone needs to take some vit D b/c of the lack of sun

guys are realllllly making me look forward to my 8wks of surg that begins in two weeks.

^That is what we have been hearing…and will start learning very soon, D. will start surgery + emergency medicine rotation in about 4 weeks. She is trying to enjoy her current rotation and evenings as much as possible right now, these days will be over very soon…Surgery has been rulled out as potential specialty wy back in HS, so she will try her best to get reasonable grades and basically get over it. Let’s hope it will not break anybody here!! Breathe deep, jump, land safely!!

What? D1 already rockin’ the 90 hour work weeks–and she hasn’t even started her surgical rotation.
