Does Stanford SCEA hold any advantage over regular decision, and does it's early admission work similar to other EA schools?
Does EA even increase your chances at all?
Would applying to SCEA with Stanford as a reach be a disadvantage over SCEA?

It works like other EA schools, except Stanford restricts you on what others you can apply to early (none).

I wouldn't say it gives you a boost, but rather that the SCEA pool is stronger than the RD one -- much more self-selective, so the acceptance rate is a bit higher.

Not sure what you mean by your last question.

I meant, would I be at a disadvantage if I applied at Stanford SCEA over RD, if Stanford is somewhat of a reach for me?(test scores are high enough though)

I happen to think it is a bad idea to do SCEA anywhere unless it is
your top choice. Does applying SCEA give you an advantage over
someone with your exact same profile applying RD? No, I think it
definitely does not. There are too many people applying SCEA and
RD for Stanford to be giving brownie points to those applying SCEA.

Does applying with an arts portfolio (music, dance, visual art) for either
SCEA or RD increase your chances? I think the answer is a qualified
"maybe" depending on the quality of your submission....

oh and Stanford has a reputation for denying and not politely defering SCEA
applicants...so oen should be doubly careful if it is a reach in the first
place from a background perspective....

In my opinion though loking at past year stats if your definition of "reach"
is based on you SAT scores...Stanford mught very well be a match ...it
is abundantly clear that Stanford does not emphasize SAT I scores too much

And just in glancing over your stats profile, I can see you would have a very good chance of getting in either way. Apply to Stanford SCEA if it's your first choice and you're sure you want to. I would actually tell you to do RD, since your accomplishments would be more likely to stand out.
