The End is Near

Oh, they all get DVDs and watch them, but there was something special about her “being there” live. Well worth it. We had a nephew go over and set up the skpye on her end. Grandma is 85 and she did not realize DD could see her, too. It was cute, - she said she would have put on a nicer top and combed her hair better. :)

Thanks for sharing. And I thought the last one leaving high school was sad… Also, didn’t know that there are recital receptions so something new to think about. Thanks for sharing all of your combined wisdom to the newbie music parents such as myself.

I looove the idea of skype-grandma in the front row! We had a skype niece on the table at thanksgiving - it was lovely to see her there. (For my ADD family, though, I could easily imagine the performer being distracted by the screen - maybe we would make it a one-way connection!)

Thanks for the Skype idea! I know it bothers my son than I’m the only one (from the family) who comes to the performances of his pieces, although he understands why that is. (His sister is still in HS, and leaves before 6am, getting up at 5. When we don’t get home from Philly until ~midnight, it makes it very rough for her. And my parents… are both in the 80s. While it’s not FAR, there are enough issues to make it hard.) But I will suggest he consider Skyping the performance, so all three can “be there”.
