The FOURTH installment of Logistic's Challenge

Same rules. PM me answers. No posting answers. If you win three consecutive contests, you get a prize. sr6622 will win a prize if he wins this and the next one. Good luck!
ALSO--On this contest, no second chances or explanations until I post the answers. Even if you add a word, pluralize or don't pluralize when you shouldn't or spell something wrong, it is wrong. All I will pm you is your score and if you are in the lead currently.

We will go until a perfect score or until 3 hours max.

PUZZLE 1: Whaddya know, a scramble!

Unscramble this word. They are "riddling metaphors" as used in Anglo-Saxon times.

Sentenece B: I went to the store and purchased peanut butter, bananas, grapes, and figs.

What is the name of the university that claims sentence A is more correct? sentence B? (Look at the comma after grapes. You must get both to get full credit)

PUZZLE 4: This is easy, but don't screw it up!

What is two times two divided by two times one-half minus one-half plus two minus three divided by one-half plus one?

PUZZLE 5:

Think about this...may I post attachments?

Top Score so far: dooit with a 2/5. I think you guys can easily get a 5/5 because this is an easier set.

Getting TONS of 3/5s here. Come on guys! Break the barrier!!! Break it!! If I don't get at least a 4, we'll have to start all over again.

20 minutes till I post answers and call this contest a VOID.

oh noes!!!

Okay gang, we got cooljay 136 with a 4/5. Too bad it wasn't consecutvie but I hereby call him the winner and CLOSE this weeks competition. If he wins the next two, he gets a prize. Good job cooljay. I will post the answers momentarily.

Thanks Logistics. This was a toughy. It was unfortunate that these couldn't be consecutive. Now I need 2 more. :)

Solutions

kennings

3478

A: I accepted several answers among Purdue, Harvard etc BUT the one I wanted was Columbia. B: Oxford

-5.5

no
(it's a rule on this board, that confused many of you)

how'd you get -5.5?

What is two times two divided by two times one-half minus one-half plus two minus three divided by one-half plus one?

PEMDAS BUT there are no parentheses given.

So 22/2.5-.5+2-3/.5+1
multiply
4/1-.5+2-3/.5+1
divide
4-.5+2-6+1
add
4-2.5-7
Subtract
-5.5
tada lol

I plug that into my calculator and get -2.5.
