The Great Crimson... Admission Personnel

How do Harvard Admission officers view my common application and other supplemental material that I have submitted for transfer admission? Is it simply viewed on a computer or are applications printed on paper? I’m basically asking this question because I had to resubmit my personal statement to make a correction and I don’t know if the Harvard Admission personnel will read the incorrect version or both.

Why does it matter?

I had to resubmit my personal statement to make a correction and I don’t know if the Harvard Admission personnel will read the incorrect version or both.

Well, decisions have come out now, so that’s water under the dam/over the bridge as my father was wont to say. If you were not pleased with the decision and wonder if the corrected statement would have made a difference, I suppose you could email. I would suspect that they read the online version rather than killing an entire forest to print out all the applications. I get 200-300 applications for job openings and I read on-line. I cannot imagine printing out the number of applications that Harvard gets.

FWIW: About 6 years when this article was written Harvard kept BOTH a paper and electronic file on every student. Not sure what is done in 2016: http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2009/4/30/dont-touch-that-file-by-the/

“I don’t know if the Harvard Admission personnel will read the incorrect version or both.”

Knowing if they use electronic or paper documents doesn’t tell you that.

“decisions have come out now”

Not for transfers.

^ Ah, thanks, Hannah. I missed that.

I would like to make a correction. I am asking whether Harvard Admission officers view common applications and other supplemental materials, that are submitted for transfer admission, on a computer or on paper because I submitted supplemental materials later on after March 1st. Essentially, what happens if I were to submit supplemental materials today? Would the admission officers be able to view it?
