In case you misunderstood the blue is the color of the night light when it comes on. It’s light sensitive, so as soon as sun goes down they automatically come on.
No, I got it. Not looking for blue fixtures! Thanks for posting - they look awesome.
We replaced a bathroom fixture with this one. It has teeny, narrow LED bulbs and it looks great.
@emilybee I have been looking at the Kohler Purist line of faucets for our guest bath remodel. I did not know they also had sconces.
@tx5athome, I chose that whole line for my bathrooms. Faucets. shower head, towel bars & tp holders in brushed nickel. Simple yet elegant, IMO.
Perfect! That line looks awesome. There is a large Kohler showroom in our favorite strip mall where we go to get high end appliances, lighting, outdoor furniture… me thinks a big MB remodel is coming up sooner than later. I still want the “tub room” back! And the six closets with dressing area.
These are what I picked:
Definitely what I am eyeing. Except I want the widespread bathroom sink faucet: https://www.us.kohler.com/us/Purist-widespread-bathroom-sink-faucet-with-low-lever-handles-and-low-gooseneck-spout/productDetail/sink-faucets/421569.htm?skuId=373108&brandId=1152540
Here was my thinking on bathroom faucets - why have two more pieces that need to be wiped down. But, in my bath with the big trough sink, I have two faucets and it wouid have been too crowded with 6 pieces anyway.
I can’t tell you how much I heart my bathroom. I put in a soaking tub and every night I fill it with lavender and rosemary oil bubble bath. I turn off all the lights, except the pots right over the tub, which are on a dimmer. I turn them down so light is low, light my scented candle, and soak while drinking a glass of wine and listening to my podcasts. It’s my happy place.
You guys have expensive taste. $308 for a towel rod? $183 for a toilet paper holder? $661 for that sconce, and it needs a fluorescent bulb? Wow.
@notrichenough, my contractor did all the purchasing so got contractors price. Not that I know what I actually paid, tbh, because I only glimpsed at the purchase orders when giving my ok. I waited 26 years to do my bathrooms and cost was not a factor. I wanted what I wanted.
Re #749: that sounds like my dh, except replace the bubble bath with scented epsom salt, the wine with bourbon and the podcast with a TV show on his ipad (usually Walking Dead, go figure.) When we remodeled our bathroom, I put in a 42"X72" Kohler cast iron soaking tub. Given dh’s love for that tub, the heated floors and the two water closets, I’m fighting a losing battle to persuade him to move to a smaller house unless we can replicate our bathroom there. He won’t care what it costs. (I do.)
^I put in radiant floors, too.
We don’t need to downsize, since we never upsized. House is approx 1800 sq ft ranch (not counting basement, which is finished and has an additional bedroom.) We rarely go down there anymore and laundry room is off the kitchen. I’ve been remodeling whole house, inside and out, in phases, for the last 14 years. Bathrooms were the last thing needed to get done. We are staying here until we die.
I will try to find less expensive options for the toilet paper holder and towel rack. I think I will just go with the shower/tub faucet trim and the sink faucet. Is there a significant difference between Kohler, American Standard, Pfister etc…?
Mr. B’s major criterion for a “downsize” house was a MB with a toilet enclosure and a large tub. That was a non-negotiable. It was amazing to see how many houses had grandiose living areas and puny MB that looked like a powder room with a shower crammed in. Our bath is smaller than what we had in the previous house and will have to be remodeled at some point (ugh, granite), but we can easily keep the current footprint: large tub, dual shower, two sinks, and enclosed toilet. And a see through fireplace and heated floors.
Sounds wonderful BB!
Greenwitch, this was remodel #1 where the second owner replaced the grandiose master floor with the more conventional 3-bedroom 2-bathroom layout. I am dying to know how the house looked like when it was just built in the early eighties! The third owner remodeled the ground floor and finished the basement but did not touch the second floor. I guess it is our turn!
Tx5athome: I bought Grohe towel bars and toilet paper holders etc. online - way, way cheaper and lovely quality.
Yesterday I attended a high end design build firm’s remodeling seminar. Oh, I so want to go with their design and finishes…and they haven’t even seen my house yet.
Today we went to an appliance store and looked at Miele, Bosch, Thermador, and Wolf to gauge prices and features. The sales rep gave me the contact info for a woman who does independent kitchen design. She’s on my list to call tomorrow.
Next weekend we’ll go to the local remodeling home show. DH is taking more interest in the process and selections. It feels like progress.
I picked out my refrigerator and dishwasher and I have to remember to order them soon if I go with Home Depot since their appliance sale ends on the 17th.
