I wanna learn Italian.

I’m a multi-linguist:)

Languages I know:
English,Hindi,Tamil,Indonesian(lived there for 8 years),French(5 years of learning),Malay

Why Italian? It’s of use in only one country!

When I was a kid I wanted the superpower of instinctively knowing every language in the world. I wanted that almost as much as I wanted to read minds.

Wait, I still do. That would totally be a college app hook.

I wanna be supercalifragilisticespialidociously multilingual too! It sucks to know only three languages :(

Interesting piece of news- [Cornell Chronicle: Tata trust gives $50 million to Cornell]($50 million endowment from Tata trust bolsters Cornell ties to India, and to eminent alumnus | Cornell Chronicle)

$50 million endowment from Tata trust bolsters Cornell ties to India, and to eminent alumnus

Cornell University has received an endowment of $50 million from the Tata Education and Development Trust, a philanthropic entity of India’s Tata Group. The endowment consists of $25 million to establish the Tata-Cornell Initiative in Agriculture and Nutrition, which will contribute to advances in nutrition and agriculture for India; and $25 million for the Tata Scholarship Fund for Students from India, to help attract more of the best and brightest students to Cornell from India.

Alumnus Ratan Tata and President David Skorton after signing their historic agreement that will provide an endowment of $50 million to Cornell for agriculture and nutrition programs in India and for the education of Indian students at Cornell.

Ratan Tata '62, one of Cornell’s most eminent alumni, is chairman of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group. Blah Blah Blah…

Edit: Another source- The USD 25 million scholarship fund will help scholarships to between six and 10 students annually, depending on level of need, and could ultimately support up to 25 Tata scholars at Cornell at any one time.

Woot! I’m gonna apply to Cornell for sure.

If anyone else has any such info about good scholarships for Indian students specifically PLEASE post.

That’s great news for all Cornell aspirants on TiT!

Which book do you guys suggest for SAT I?
I have the PR. From what I’ve read on CC, The Official guide seems to be the best.
But my counselor suggested Kaplan. Though she honestly admitted, she was saying Kaplan because the students found practice tests real tough.

@Tetris-I wan to learn Italian coz I went to Italy last year and totaly loved it. I hope to live there sometime in my life. Most of the good things in the world are Italian-Ferrari,Versace,Da Vinci,AC Milan,Pasta,Pizza,Hot Italian Supermodels,Rome,Capri, etc

I’ve heard not-so-flattering things about Kaplan from my friends and seniors.

I once met someone who told me that Italian men are ridiculously good-looking and that I should never go there with a significant other ;)

Well, Italy is a country of infinite beauty.

I really hope to go there someday. I’ve been dying to see the Colosseum since I was like 7 or 8.

I can’t believe you forgot to mention Italian FOOD.

Cornell has too many essays. Gah. I can’t write any more ‘Why this college?’ essays.

What’s everyone’s first choice?

Ooooooooh FOOOOOOOD! :D

You already started writing ‘Why this college’ essays?!

You all know my top choice, dontcha? ;)

^Is it Northern Michigan University  ???

Ah! I died in the Colosseum 6 or 7 centuries ago. You should have seen it in my time, before the earthquake brought down the south wall on my head in 1349.

Quasi-If you read my other post about Italy more carefully you’ll see that pasta and pizza are mentioned.

Northern Michigan it is. Dream school since age 10.
