I have used ONLY PR till now :(
I thought Joe Bloggs etc. was good. Until I came to CC and found out that grass was greener elsewhere.
Have placed a special request for the official guide at one of Lucknow's best bookstore's. Hope they fetch it in time.

What's Joe Bloggs?

Fact-Kolkata sends the most number of students for higher education(undergrad. and post-grad)to institutions outside India.I think 35% of all US bound students are from Kolkata. Maybe thats why there are so many Kolkatans here.

is the PR good?looks

I was so surprised when I found people from Ranchi and stuff at my SAT test centre. They must REALLY have wanted to go to the US to have travelled all the way to take a test. Why do so many people from Kolkata want to go abroad anyway?

@Cheese- Or maybe the other way around! CC FTW!
@idea- I can only answer your question once I've done the official SAT guide(assuming I get it). But PR is not USELESS either I can tell you. I might have not gone over 2K without its help. Even if it was just a casual 2-3 day prep. I even used the PR book for my school Eng. Lang exam.

because they're inspired by the kolkatans who have already fled : )

@Quasi- Why did Ranchi shock you lol? In that case you should laugh at me as well for going all the way to Mussorie to give my ACT(Not even SAT). Its not about desperation. Its about (insert a high sounding word ending with -tion here) or keeping your options open.

When did I even mention desperation? I was just surprised by their...dedication. (That work?) Don't take everything the wrong way and think people are implying something derogatory when they're not. looks cranky

gary7,are you taking the SAT this year? my sister has already taken the SAT and has done very well, she says the barron is very useful and so is the collegeboard 10 real SAT (the huge yes)so,i am very confused, and please let me know if the official guide helped you : ) thank you!

@Quasi- My apologies. Honestly, that was rash. Its just that I've been subjected to a few 'comments' I'd rather not discuss, which caused me to react impulsively.
I hope you will forgive me!
@idea- Yes, I'm taking the coming SAT. If things go according to plan(Basically 2200+) SAT II in June :)
Also, for all SAT aspirants, this is as imp as PR or whatever you're thinking of buying- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/68210-xiggis-sat-prep-advice.html

hello people

Hey rt.

Where's tetris?

stepped back for about 22 hours and missed three web pages.......gosh this thread is turning out to be aggressive and fast...........
keep it up boys and girls

Tetris is here :). Seems I’m wise and knowledgable, yay for being the harbinger of wisdom!

BTW, here’s how you get that emoticon - : p (take out the space, d’oh)

And what’s with you Kolkata folks, seriously!? We southerners pale in comparision to you (speaking purely in terms of numbers, of course ;))

Your idli-sambhar diet only gives magical olympiad brains. Bot Phoren ones
@rt- Haha! A possible end to CMS-Lamadhchonch rivalry?

Dude, I hate idli-sambar! I lurve North Indian food.

man wat is this lamadhconch?
@tetris and to all:wats ur favourite dish(write NV for non veg and V for veg…)

rt_08:NV–>Butter Chicken,Dragon Chicken
V–>Dal Chawal(common man’s meal…lol)

Thats exactly why you’re going west.
Also, I just don’t get why you always seem to think Lurve is cooler than love. Lurve sounds more like spraying spit on your keyboard :P

(Don’t take the comment to heart)

@rt- That post went completely over my head!
And Lamadhchonch is what we CMSians call Lamarts fondly at times
Note- Lamadhchonch might possibly be a part of the local Aliganj branch dialect.
