I couldn't find any threads that examine the differences between these (and these types) of schools. So, could you guys give me some feedback about both the positive and negative aspects of these universities. How do the physics departments differ, if at all? What about campus, campus life, professors, undergraduate research, etc.? If anyone has anything special they would like to add about the schools, feel free. I want a LARGE amount of ideas, facts, statistics, opinions, and real-life experiences.

i don't care about the flaws. Just get prestige and that's good enough.

^

I hope you're being sarcastic.

dang. i never seem to start a thread that just carries on and on. i'm shooting for one that is at least 50 posts long. come on people, let's get a good discussion going.

If you wanted a >50 post thread, you should be asking about personal life, opinions about wellknown controversies, etc.. This topic actually requires prior research about the a specific department in those colleges.

But I guess I can assume CalTech and MIT have physics covered.

Use the search function! There's so much threads like these.

Maybe you should try going to each individual school's forums. I doubt there's many people that have attended all of the schools you listed, so you might want to just try and find all the people that actually go there.

MIT is cooler than caltech

Re: Narcissa

Isn't that sort of like saying that World of Warcraft is cooler than D&D? ;)

^Haha, well played.

MIT and Caltech are both science/math powerhouses but MIT is located right next to Boston. Caltech in Pasadena. Not much to do in Pasadena compared to Boston. Though California weather is incredible......

lmao, i love how when anyone compares MIT and caltech all they can say is "the weather in california is great!"

ok. the weather in pasadena is *ing gorgeous. boston has quite possibly the world's *tiest weather. it's kind of an important difference.

lol yeah im sure it is. i dont even go to MIT or anything, so =)

Some of us like that ****ty weather. :(
