Okay, I just don't get why everyone is so enamored with The O.C. I've tried to watch it, but I dunno... I've never been able to sit through an entire episode. I'm not dissing it or anything and I'm not trying to offend anyone, but none of my friends watch it either and I just wanted some opinions on it.

LOL, the actors are like 25 ish! I'm a senior in high school and I can see that the kids in the show are significantly older than my peers. I think that's part of why I haven't been into it at all.

I live near Orange County. Many of my friends live in Orange County. If anyone actually thinks the show represents Orange County, they need a reality check.

I met a guy from England last summer, and the first thing he asks me is: "So do you live like the girls in the O.C?" Ugh.

oh dear god, no. I don't know who's life that show could possibly represent. i've always thought of it as a prime time soap. oh, and if anybody has seen the TV show, North Shore, Hawaii is not like that. puh-leeze. The vast majority of the cast members were brought from the mainland. oy...

Misha Barton is 18, Olivia Wilde is 20.

But yeah, other than them the cast members are in their mid-20's.

It's basically an entertaining soap, like you said. Some poeple enjoy soaps.

It's just a soap with a cast of young characters.

I bet you could take a script from "Young and the Restless" and just change around the characters to match the OC and people wouldn't know the difference.

I personally do like the show, but only for entertainment. I can't stand the fact that everybody refers to Orange County as The OC now. Two years ago nobody would have called it that. Plus for those of you not from California, you'd be amazed at how big an area Orange County really is. Newport Beach itself is very nice area, with some very nice homes. However I've said it before, The OC is not actually filmed in The OC, most of the show is shot (in the city that I hope to live in someday!) Malibu.

If any of you ever saw the show Summerland on the WB, that show was really a joke. I'm not even 100% anybody lives in the actual city of Summerland. However I'm biased, I had a bad driving (nothing terrible, just got a little confused by all the 1 way roads) in that city.

Okay, well, he's actually very cute - reminds me a bit of my ex boyfriend, tho, so that gives him some negative points. ;) I looked up the cast tho, that Luke character, I think, is pretty hot. But I have a weird prefrence for blonde guys.. don't really know why.

Hahaha, yeah I know he isn't a real person, but I have made it my goal in life to find the closest thing to him!!!!! WOAH total psycho alert :p

Anyway, he's a hottie aka the reason I watch that show, it's kinda lame this yr with Ryan's one facial expression and Marissa's constant boozing/acting dumb.

mischa barton is 18 and i think rachel bilson/adam brody are 23. I watch it cuz I love watching the life of rich kids for some reason. It's very entertaining and Adam Brody is hot.

I love Adam Brody! That's the reason I watch the O.C....(that's also the reason that i've watched some really lame movies) The O.C is awesome because of Adam Brody. He can make anything great!

But he's apparently nothing like his character in real life
[/quote]
...as for this, i've seen an interview with him and he says he and "Seth Cohen" actually have a lot in common.

But why does everyone think Seth Cohen is hot? He is a weird, skinny kid who is nothing compared to Ryan, the epitome of hott. Really, you can't get much better than Ryan: he's the bad boy, but he's actually good! It's strangely interesting and addicting to watch shows about the lives of the rich, even though it's not even real. It's just pure entertainment - obviously they don't look like people from your high school, because who would really want to watch a show with actors who look like that?
