The Oberlin "Big Book of Forms" Arrived This Morning!

There is a separate Course Catalog for the 2009-2010 First-Year Seminar Program. On the cover of the "Big Book" is my daughter's full name, including middle name, her T#, PIN#, Oberlin email address and Oberlin User Name.

There are multiple references in the First-Year Seminar Program catalog to the full course catalog, which, of course, is not included. The language in the FYSP catalog "strongly urges" students to enroll in a first year seminar, which they can do through the Big Book of Forms. However, it does not appear that a first year seminar is REQUIRED. I mistakenly assumed it was required. Anyway, the selections are extremely interesting. Makes me wish I was back in college. Well, almost. :)

Lucky! I live on the West Coast so it may take a while to get to me.

Good luck getting through all those forms  How many pages is it?

Can anyone get their email to work? I could login to PRESTO and the occampus thing but not email.

You go to <a href=“Oberlin College - Sign In”>Oberlin College - Sign In; and you use the username on the front of your booklet (first letter of first name followed by first 7 letter of last name) and the MMDDYYYY form for your password right?

After many attempts I still can’t get mine to work.

So if John Doe was born on January 1st 1901 it would be:

Username: jdoe
Password: 01011901

Right?

I know you didn’t ask, Plainsman, but in case you or anyone else is wondering, the full catalog is at [Oberlin College - acalog ACMS™](http://catalog.oberlin.edu) . You can see how full classes are by checking Presto. There are print catalogs available at Orientation… that’s a while to wait, but they’re fun to flip through, highlight, dog-ear, etc. if that’s your thing ;)

quinoa423, before you can use your ObieID for anything you have to go here and update your password - have you already done that? The other thing that could be messing you up is if there’s already someone on campus with your first initial and last name. For example, if there’s already a John A. Doe, then John B. Doe’s username would be jbdoe, not jdoe. So it’s a good idea to double-check the username that’s printed on your book, rather than just trying first initial + first 7 of last name.

@quaere–

Yay I got in! Thank you so much-- you are always so helpful!

I didn’t update my password.

Quinoa and Quaere: she never “registered” with a password. She’s only been in PRESTO which requires the T number and PIN. It doesn’t require Password.

We didn’t see anything at the link you provided where you register if you’ve never registered in the first place to create a password. So when you say you need to “update your password” it doesn’t apply to her. Where do you go to create/get a password that you can update? Do you happen to have that link or know where I can find it?

Liv09: It’s 60 pages. The First Year Seminar book is separate

Uh…nevermind. We figured it out!

Edit: never mind  I’ll leave this here in case anyone else needs it, since CIT’s instructions aren’t super helpful.

i’m so excited! all the FYSP options look so interesting, i’m having trouble narrowing it down, although i’, already pretty positive about a few of them. and signing up for my obie email felt so good and official.

FYI, there won’t actually be any paper course catalogs available at orientation–this past year was the last year of the printed version. So just go ahead and get used to the online version now!
