ok, i just wanna clarify this: were we suposed to get a scholarship, if any with the decision letter or in the financial aid letter that we'll get in a week or so? cuz i just saw two people from this whole board that mentioned something about fin aid (someone said they got 30k)

i really hope that they arent sendingthe acceptances now and sending the rejections on the 28th... that would suck

does anyone feel that thats the case?

im from north jersey, has anyone from here gotten their decision yet?

Razorsharp-- check online... i'm from CT and my actual letter hasn't come yet, but I found out online first.
and where does it say anything about fin. aid / scholarships on the website?

i did check online... nothings there, it doesnt even say they sent me my decision yet

as far as i know, scholarships come in the acceptance packets.

I live on Long Island. I got my acceptance/scholarship/fat letter on Thursday (Mailed on 21st).

why is the postal service so screwed up?

Sorry for the late response guys.

The scholarship is simply called "Carnegie Mellon Scholarship" or something and you even get a certificate with your name on it. Anyway, theres so much stuff in the "FAT letter" and one of the sheets describes the scholarship. Its like ~$31,600 first year and could be $126,000 over 4 years if i keep a 2.0 gpa.

You guys were right, i did get a likely from Fu at Columbia. And of course i know SCS >>>>>>>>>>>> Fu in CS since Fu is considered somewhat of a joke and SCS could be argued is the best. But i'd feel much better at the columbia community. On the other hand, i dunno if i could do that to my parents (moneywise).

i dont think its the usps's fault..when they say they "mailed" it probably means its in the outbox..or carnegie mellons mail room

The FAT letter can be bad! We were so happy when we got the online decision a few days ago, but the FAT letter came today and there is no mention of scholarship money in it. So I guess that's it. We probably don't qualify for need based aid. Now I'm sad because my son wants to go, could go, but it's just too much money. (tear).

anyone know when the last batch of sent letters was, and when the next batch is.. the next batch better be the last one..

mail came, still no letter. argh

Don't be disapointed yet. The finaid letter will come AFTER the big fat one. You may also be able to check finaid online. If I remember correctly, and mind you this was two years ago, my S's finaid letter came several days after the big fat envelope.

Thanks wct. I sure hope that we get something, but my heart is heavy today. From the posts above, however, it seems that at least some scholarships came in the admissions envelope. And my son's credentials were right in there with the rest of them. He got into five schools, including the bsa program. I just kind of thought he'd get something.
