Most unfair system? Unfair would be only looking at an applicant’s UF GPA and SAT/ACT score. Unfair would kicking out lower stats as a higher stat aplicant came across. Unfair would be only notifying accepted applicants by mail. It honestly sounds like you’re bitter. Rather be with people of similar stats? The expected differences between people of different stars are smaller than you think. Looks like you don’t like diversity.

I honestly think they do a great job. Most people compare themselves by their stats but UF is looking at the whole picture, which is why it looks so random to us. That is why some people with high SATs sometimes don’t get in and people with lower ones do. It’s all about how they are perceived and how well rounded they make the 2017 class. And then there is always the person that deserved to get in but didn’t… There are only so many spaces.

I won’t go any further, but I do like diversity, and I am not feeling bitter or anything. It seems random to me, and perhaps when I can’t understand their way of reasoning is when I get frustrated.
Anyways, good luck to everyone, and the path in life starts again after high school. What you have done before, will not count after acceptance to the school of your choice. It counts for you as an individual, but it does not carry over to college.

So she’s Chinese and international and didn’t get as good an SAT score (on a test that’s 2/3 language skills) as someone for whom English was a first (and likely ONLY) language. The nerve of them, taking her!
