The Official AP Exam Stress Thread

AP Euro next Friday.
I’m fairly confident about the multiple-choice section, but the essays are going to KILL me. I’m just terrified of getting an FRQ topic that I am not able to write anything about.

Anyone have predictions about what the frq topics are gonna be?

Bleargh BC Calc and USH. I took a practice test last saturday for USH and got a 5 so I’m not really worried about that, but I’m ready to kill myself over calculus. ughghghg

Anyone who’s taken an AP exam before:
Is it possible to BS an frq and still get a 5?

AP Calc BC - pretty sure I’ll get a 5. I’ve done bare minimum work in PR.

AP USH - actually looking forward to this one. Praying the FRQ’s don’t go too indepth about the Civil War … hated the mid-19th century.

AP Bio - everyone practically got 5’s this year, but it’s hard for me. Just praying for a nice, easy MC Q just like AP Chem last year! Right not hovering at the 4 range.

Stats : Dead
BC Calc : Yay
Spanish Lang : Yay
US History : Getting there…!

US Government: so-so
Compsci AB: Uh oh…
Calc BC: Yes
English Lit: who cares (future engineer)
Euro History: stressed but should be fine
Physics C: Yay
Microeconomics: Should ace this one

I have not gone to sleep before 1am this whole entire week. My teachers are giving tests like crazy trying to prepare us for the AP exam. I guess they help but it’s just getting us REALLY stressed and gives us noooo time to prepare on our own. AHHH. This weekend is gonna be INSANE. I’m cramming in so much info, it’s crazy.

…my grade in Spanish has dropped over 10 percentage points since I started preparing for AP exams. It’s my only non-AP class. Oh well, I got like 2-3 weeks to make it go up after AP exams. Hahaha.

And then I have the June SAT IIs…so I can’t completely forget Chemistry. ANd I have to review a bit for Lit.

I WANT SUMMMERRRRR.

I’m relatively non-stressed. That’s just my mentality… I do my best, and whatever happens happens. shrug

Oh, Muscovy, how I envy you.

Gov—my teacher covered everything. I just didn’t care. And now I sort of have to…seeing as the exam is basically in 48 hours.

BC—This was my worst subject, so obviously I am worried. However, it’s in the morning, at a time when I can actually FUNCTION (heh. heh.) as opposed to 2 pm when all I want to do is go home and sleep. So hopefully that works out for moi.

Lit–no sweat.

Chem—sweat. We haven’t done much…

Econ----should be fine

Enviro—not too too worried. The only problem is the memorization of some of the acts passed so we can all breathe and be happy.

And once all that is done and I graduate happy I am fully going to watch Phantom of the Opera.

Lol, thats why I’m worried about Physics C: E&M, its at 2:00 PM and its right after the Physics C: Mechanics exam…so I’ll be stressed out both physically and mentally.
I feel bad for those doing Bio + both the Physics on that day, they’ve got three in a row from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

AP World History- Doing alright, my teacher says my frqs are at the 7-9 range. Yay. last mc test i took i got a 45… Correct me if i’m wrong but I think im on the borderline between a 4 and a 5.

AP Bio- I’m kinda scared for the frqs. Haven’t practiced them at all. I should get on that… MC i got a 50/100… so im in the 4 range. Hopefully i can boost it up to a 5.

Luckily, most of my tests are pretty simple this year…

AP US Gov: 1st semester stuff, so naturally it kind of just faded out of my head and I’m kind of forgetting all I learned…shouldnt be too bad?

AP Comp Gov: freaking out a little bit…have been self studying for about 3 weeks now, but without the course, I think my knowledge is a bit shaky…im expecting a 3, MAYBE 4…but whatev i dono.

AP Human Geo: yeah right…i saw a couple practice questions and i laughed…simple

Micro/Macro Econ: Macro, I’m solid. Micro, not so good…i struggled with Micro this year, so im expecting a pretty terrible score…

English Lang: ehh…doesn’t seem to bad, but i could be wrong…

I think most people get stressed over these things because the college board and teachers tend to build the tests up like they’re as important as your kidneys or something… I think so many kids just get ridiculously siked out by these things…and I’m one of them lol.

AP French: Wow…this was a mistake. The listening part is my weakest section…I answered about 35 questions… (eliminated the obvious wrong/distractor and guessed.) I think I got a few right, but meh. The reading was easy, but I couldn’t answer all of them. The writing and oral were incredibly easy though. (The writing was so easy, in fact, that I must have really screwed it up.)

AP US GOV: I kept scoring a 4 by like 1 point on practice exams. (28/60+54/60=82. 82/120=4!) However, on this exam I felt I did slightly better on the MC and slightly worse on the Free response. The Free 4a, I just got wrong, so I probably got 4b wrong. Um, the others were just incredibly easy, though everyone else in my class got it backwards to me… hm… question (since we can talk about them today, where I live it is now Wednesday, did anyone need specific examples for 1-3? I didn’t use any and I couldn’t think of anything that would help. (This excludes bringing in other points Madison made in Federalists 10, because that is just obvious.) But, I missed a few things, for certain (just checked) on the MC, still feel good about it…

AP Literature: This exam seems pretty easy. I have consitently gotten a 5/8 or 6/9 per section of the MC, and as one may guess, Writing’s my strength, so I feel fairly strong here. Still, the sheer unpredictability of this exam scares me… and I have a lot of lit terms to review…(they are my weakness…boo!)

AP Chemistry: My God, how does anyone do well on this? AP Biology: Easy. AP Physics: I see its difficulty, but it seems more or less straight forward. But there is just so much one has to know for this friggin exam. I’m going nuts trying to read a Kaplan, a five steps (There are so many errors. Boo 5steps for Chem), and reviewing material. At least the Kaplan’s helping… I actually understand what I’m reviewing. (My teacher has so not taught me ****.

AP Microeconomics: Someone else mentioned worry for this… however, my teacher was amazing…there isn’t one concept I don’t understand, and we’re reviewing in class for the next week, and she is great at this. (90% of the class will probably make a 5 since only 2 people have really given up on it.

These courses were fun though…even Chem…probably cause we didn’t do anything… XP

I have 3, with 1 down at 2 to go:

1) AP US HISTORY (on friday):
Although I didn’t do really well in this class all year, I studied my butt off for weeks and think I at least passed the test with a 3. I knew for-sure about half of the multiple choice, and managed to write three coherent, decently-supported essays. So here’s hoping!!

2) AP Physics B:
This is the one I’ve only barely been passing all year, and I almost feel it’s pointless to study. I know know KNOW I’m going to get a 1 no matter what I do. But I’m still studying, so I feel like I’m at least trying. It was such a mistake to take this course.

3) AP English Lit&Comp:
This one should be easy for me. I looove writing essays, and got a 4 on the practice multiple choice we took without studying beforehand. Plus I get 7s on most of my in-class essays. So I’m not super worried.

Back to AP physics studying :[ does anyone else feel the same way about one of their tests? Like it’s almost pointless to even study, because you know you’ll fail?

I’m taking APWH for the first time tomorrow…cramming like hell tonight working on essays and stuff. :(
