The Official AP Physics B Thread

phew^ are you sure? so i didn’t need to expand Fe?? i really really hope not!
and i made another stupid mistake by messing up on the electric field diagram bleh=[[ ughh i was thinking of electric field vectors darn

oh suckss, i was confused but at first but then had an epiphany and wrote nice curvy repelling lines, and for the wavelength question, to find the distance between dark fringes you modify the equation to have lambda/2 instead of lambda right?

Does it really matter? Isn’t the distance between any two dark fringes the same as the distance between any consecutive bright fringe?

^ it’s kinda hard to have an epiphany when your brain is groggy and you haven’t gotten much sleep the night before…=[
how many points do you thinkt that electric field diagram is worth?? i mean…i drew the arrows pointing out from the protons but they didn’t curve away =[

Ya just plug 1 into the double slit experiment.

Also apparently the frequency doesnt change?! it was a trick question i heard?

^frequency doesn’t change=[ it was a trick question

theres 10 possible points and 4 parts in that problem. 2 of the problems are diagrams and the other 2 are formulas, so i assume each formula one is worth 3 points, and the diagram 2 each. So i’m sure you’ll get 1 point for showing that the lines are repelling because that is the whole concept of the diagram.

■■■, got messed up from the distance from the center which is lambda/2, and no for the index one isnt it n=c/v so isnt there a new velocity but the wavelenght doesn’t change, so there is a new frequency???

my bad :stuck_out_tongue: lol

Why selter?

for the distance between dark fringes one
u have to subtract the difference between where one dark fringe starts and the distance from where the preceding light fringe strats to get the net difference
i did (2+.5)λL/d-(1)λL/d
and u get like .1m

no its sine, the angle is being measured from the top of the pendulummmmm

^lol radius=Lsin0
100% positive

yea i agree
so how many points do u think ill get for just putting KQ/r+KQ/r
i forgot to simplify :frowning:
lol

yup, and for what happens to the distance between the dark fringes once submerged, i put the same since lambda(wavelength doesn’t change)

i say 1-2 points, depending on the reader’s generosity lolll

wavelength does change tho
since speed decreases and freq is constant

i hope so
id be stoked to get 2 for that lol

also… distance between 2 dark fringes… you were supposed to use d sin theta= m lambda, and tan theta = y/L … when m = 0,1,2, its bright… dark when m= 1/2,3/2,5/2
so you had to find y1, which was when m=1/2, and then find y2 when m = 3/2… then do y2-y1 :)

and wavelength DOES change in a diff medium.

would be just 1m lolll, and dude yea you’re right, looked it up on the book, frequency stays constant ■■■
