hey, this thread got EDITORIZED

censorship is rampant

What got edited?

the obama stuff

ummmmmm ok

Yeah, the same thing happened with the North Korea discussion we had going a few days ago.

So...is anyone applying to the Business school? (McDonough or something like that)

Glad to see I'm on the list. (Threevan - COL, Gov.)

It seems to me that a dispraportionately larger number of people apply to SFS. Is the SFS EA applicant pool that much stronger than for the other schools? I would bet so.

Anyways, December 15 approaches much too slowly.

that's why I didn't do SFS, I was convinced I'd have a much better shot at the college

Also, I didn't really have foreign service etc. as my top goal

I think SFS is a bit more competitive.

I'm looking towards a career in Foreign Service with a special emphasis in Korean/Far East relations, so that's why I'm looking at SFS.

Also looking for a career in general International Diplomacy.

Damn How come you guys have so many more posts and people than Emory! We are ranked higher than you! And might I add that G'Town is even preppier than Emory! A difficult feat!

Emory may be ranked higher, but it is by no means better.

Anyone will tell you that Georgetown is more nationally recognized as a top university over Emory. Sorry, Tenacious.

Also, people on these boards don't seem to be very interested in southern schools. Cases in point: Vanderbilt, Chapel Hill, Virginia, Rice, WUSTL, etc.

PS- Hoya Saxa! :)

PPS- No offense to Emory, I think it's an awesome school.

SFS isn't geared strictly towards the Foreign Service..My interviewer actually said most people won't end up going into it, but to jobs in NGOs and IGOs and multi national corporations or onto Law School.

Tlaktan,
I want to go into the Foreign Service too! But with a China & Latin America focus. I wouldn't mind a job with the UN, though.

I don't think you can say that it is more nationally recognized. Obviously it is in Poli Sci, but after that... The problem is that I live like 15 minutes from Georgetown and that is just way too close to go to school or else I might be on the roster as well!

ah, see, I live in NY, and can't wait to see what a completely different urban area like DC might be like.

It seems like G'Town has a huge population of students from the NY area for some reason. I guess its hard to go from NYC to a small town like Durham or Ann Arbor or something like that, hence DC and Boston become the only viable options.

well, i'm also applying to completely rural Dartmouth too, so I'm not one of those hardcore city people

Nursing and Health Studies, International Health

The admissions officer who came to my school actually said that the admit percentages for the special schools like SFS are actually higher than for the college, but that may just be that the applicants to those schools are self-selective. In any case, she really encouraged people to apply to those schools.

hey guys I applied ea to the SFS for cultures and politics
good luck to everyone!
