Got waitlisted from EW. Not angry about it, actually. I applied for 11th there and I was openly trans. Sort of thought my stats would slide me in but oh well!

Waitlisted at Taft… now I’m really nervous about the rest.
It was the SAO, so my essays weren’t as strong as the others, but also one of my least selective schools.
I can think of reasons why I might have gotten waitlisted at Taft over others (it’s a small school and I don’t have sports I could contribute to well, and some others) but I’m just very very nervous because I really might not know where I’ll be next year (definitively) by the end of the day tomorrow (today). Which I prepared myself for, but I don’t think I ever really truly expected it…
Waitlisted at Taft…Honestly not a surprise considering my HORRIBLE interview and that they don’t have a pool, yet one of my recommendations was written by my swim coach.
@ThatScorpio I honestly wouldn’t be that nervous if you are waitlisted at Taft/Kent, you are definitely qualified for the top schools, I think it will really come down to fit and ultimately luck…Good Luck Guys!

What is SAO? Sorry to be so dense!
@mynameiswhatever It’s the SSAT-run application. The essay questions just weren’t as interesting (imho).
@ThatScorpio You never know how it will all end really, as our perceptions of our own applications appears to be drastically different than how committees see us.
@ThatScorpio Thanks! Could you use SAO for the CHASED schools? We just used Gateway and dealt with each school individually.
I saw SAO on the SSAT, but I thought it wasn’t relevant.
Again, on a night/morning when there is some much else going on, I appreciate it’s silly to be asking this now (although I do have a DC who will be considering all of this in about 5 years!)
I wish I could have a better idea of why I was waitlisted. I guess I’ll have a better idea tomorrow.
Honestly, I mainly liked their film arts program and they just changed their teacher, so that could be part of the issue (and the fit didn’t seem right anyway), as well as the fact that it’s a smaller school.
But I have no true idea.
I’m less disappointed about not being able to attend a school that I don’t think was the right school, and more worried that my application really wasn’t good enough (so I’ll get a lot of waitlists tomorrow …)
@mynameiswhatever it depends on the school. Some use the SAO, some gateway, some either. It always says under the apply portion of the website which application to use.
