The Official November 2014 SAT Thread (INTERNATIONAL)

23 questions for Critical Reading?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
The writing grammar was pretty hard, but the Math was pretty easy. I really hope the CR section that was hard was the experimental section.

@Cosmological Oh well, I got a really hard Writing MCQ section and I hope it was the experimental one. The other one was fine… Btw, did you give the international one? or…?

@oreolover123 I am in the US.

Anyone found the test hard? :O

I don’t think this was a repeated SAT exam

I found that math was extremely easy but I may have just made some careless mistakes. There was one critical reading section involving the usage of punctuation that I ran out of time to do and found quite difficult.

Dayum dayummmm, DAYYUUUM, that was an amazing test!
By far not the hardest I’ve taken, actually one of the easiest, but not too easy to be boring… Some challenging CR questions but in general I would say all three parts were pleasantly easy - medium level. I was able to do the hardest questions on the Math section without too much strenuous effort, and the only problem I had with CR was the “Newtonian Reality” text. The other texts, especially the one about that flower were actually really interesting. I don’t remember ever chuckling at an SAT text like that before. Really happy now :)

I suspect getting a total above 2000, and if the CB Gods be fortuitous, maybe even a 2100. In any case, great test, awesome day, can’t wait for the 25th! Thank you all!

Oh, and just a little funny story when I was at the test center (which was located at one of the most prestigious high schools in Brazil). I felt so… Out of place there, imagine the richest kids, in the richest city of South america. And me, a proud-to-be simpleton for all intents and purposes.
Come test time, I was perfectly calm and impassive (saw this word about 9000 times on the test btw) while the others… Sheesh… The room was cold, but everyone was sweating tons, people cursing under their breath because they didn’t finish in time… Tears…
One girl begged me for tips before the test, noticing I was “from the US”. She seemed extremely nervous, to the point of a breakdown… She told me that she needed a 2400, because her mother said so… XDDD.
“uhm… ok… Right, what university are you applying to?” I asked…
“Oh oh oh, Harvard!”
“…”
“And University of Chicago!”
“So… How old are you exactly?”
''15!"

You know, you gotta admire a young spirit like that. I truly believe one day she’s gonn a pass at Harvard. It was pretty cute :D

(O.K, I know it’s a sin to post 3 times in a row but I’ve got a valid question.)
The fact that almost everyone found the test to be relatively easy is a bit… Concerning.
I’ve heard that Easy test = Extremely Harsh Curve.
I don’t know the validity of that, but… Damn, if 2 wrong answers on the Math portion get me down to 630 or something, I’m gonna be piiiissseeed.
Deep breath… The SAT result is coming out on my birthday. Oh the joy!

I really hope the math curve is not too harsh.
I got all the hard ones right but the easy ones are the ones I screw up every single time thanks to dumb mistakes.
Also, as always writing #$!@%#@$!% me. I think 5-7 wrong damn.

Can we tell which one of the two 35-question writing sections I have is the experimental one ?

I think it was the section 3 one. The main was about the time zone thing

@ JOshka, why don’t you think it was a repeated exam???

If it were someone would have found out just as the october people did

Oh yeah something was so strange, I had an experimental CR section and overall I had one 23 question, one 24 question and one 25 question section. (And of course a 19 question section).
I guess the 24 question was the experimental one, otherwise their wouldn’t be exactly 67 CR questions

did anyone else get the experimental writing section that gave us a passage and asked us to correct specific sentences in it? choice A for every question said “NO CHANGE”

Same. That was the only section that I found difficult

I know my dummy was CR… How do you guys think the writing MC section was?

what were the passages about?

Were you guys able to get the last error identification question in writing correct?

During the Elizabethan era, both men and women were prohibited (to wear) clothing considered extravagant for their social rank to the time.

Is the error (to wear) or No Error?
