@pianistonstrike: Yah, their autumn quarter had ended then and it was winter break. Guess it means that the results coming out this week is a possibility.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeease let it be this week! :/

^I know Butternut! I can't afford to spend another week hunched over my computer waiting for college decisions in a deep dark corner of my room.

Because
(1) It's nerve-wracking and
(2) I need more light and multas veritas (more truth)
(3) I clearly need my life back.

^^ You should go swing or something! Seriously, staying hunched over a computer screen will not improve your chances of getting admitted:)

Trust me, I tried and, for some reason unbeknownst to me, college admissions officers don't take back disalignment, as attributed to the aforementioned hunching, into consideration for their admissions decisions.

Like all things, decisions will come and, for about 65% of us, it will be bad news, so why not enjoy today?

^I have an English test tomorrow, so I should be studying and not spending all my precious time away on CC. (and I was making a play on Butternut's "Location")

Oh well. It'll all be over in a week and I can go back to enjoying my life.

^ Meh, English is easy. No need to study for that. It's the calculus you have to watch out for. ;)

And besides, being hunched over a computer screen is bad for your posture. Didn't your mom ever tell you to stand up straight?

^ Meh, Calculus is easy. No need to study for that. It's the Physics you have to watch out for ;)

God if the decisions came in the mail I would no longer need to go make retarded jokes on the internet. I think UChicago needs to send them out ASAP for the good of everyone :P

oh god. physics.

though i did get 17/20 on the last test (magnetic forces and fields)
i was soooo proud of myself lol
i beat the kid that got into MIT!

snail mail will take forever to get to my house...all my schools are east coast
though it won't be as bad as cambridge was....

oh and btw the amount of paranoia on the UK boards before cambridge came out was MUCH worse than this

like i would refresh after 1 minute and there would be 3 new pages of thread. no joke. people were freaking out.

20pt scale? i used a 20pt scale in france... it was terrible.

^ are you from France?? i am, and when i first saw how they were grading kids here, i had trouble adjusting!! it was so unusual having A, Bs grades!! now 13 years later.. i realize it's much more easier having an A than a 20!!!!!;)

no, i'm not, but i did live there. getting a 17 in a certain class nearly made me have a heart attack! in the meantime, having A+'s is pretty easy here. haha. it's always at the teacher's discretion, too, you know? in my history class in france, a 14 was a cause to throw a huge party and consider yourself the best student in the world because the teacher was so harsh. but a 14 in my economics class was kind of average. translating french grades into american GPA is just about impossible!

English ... easy? Are you serious?? My test -- that I'm still studying for because it got delayed -- is on the 10 group poetry presentations made in the last 3 weeks + 125 lit terms. And it's fill-in-the-blank. (aka I have this kind of concrete diction ... which poem is it from? or alliteration is not found in which poems? which poem was a rondeau?) AND I DON'T HAVE THE POEMS IN FRONT OF ME. I simply fail at memorizing.

I love math, but calculus is not my best friend. We argued about our limits. :)

Butternut, she tried, but to no avail. I am now a proud hunchback. You just can't miss me even if I was standing in downtown NYC. (How 'bout your back from waiting for college decisions?)

Physics? Two words: Epic fail.

Good luck! ab2013 won't be signing on until 9 tonight, so I won't be with you guys if Chicago releases decisions. We had some great conversations, so I'll miss counting down with you guys. :(

The mods will be monitoring CC chatter and the Chicago admission site, so when decisions are released, they'll unlock the decisions thread that's been sticky-noted to the top of the Chicago board.

ab2013 is now signing off ... hopefully he'll return unless he dies from a heart attack waiting for his Chicago decision.

way to rock the third person. lol.

Well... I am not sure whether I mind about UChicago's decisions anymore. I mean... as a pre-med, I don't think I'm confident enough to get great marks at UChicago anyway, so I don't really mind getting rejected from UChicago, but it's always nice to get accepted to somewhere I love (except it is just too difficult...).

e/m hurts my face.

calc and chem were fun. english is :(

Ab, you're talking like they are going to be released today. And yes, I have terrible posture, too. But I can blame the scoliosis for that, instead of college decisions. Although maybe it would be better to blame Chicago... ;) At this point, I'm happy waiting- as long as Im waiting, my dreams haven't been crushed.

English is :D , Physics is :) and Calc is :o :(

I have to post again because the smilies are amazing.

English is :D, Physics is :), and Calc was :D (most of the time, at least). Euro and French are emphatic :(s, though . . .

Sheesh, this reminds me of 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time' (or whatever that book was called) . . .

Ohmygosh, I need to join this smiley conversation (also, has anyone seen the latest blog yet? I think it's my favorite one thus far).

English is definitely :D, Physics has been :(, and Calc (at least today) has been :), but it's usually :(.

^^ haha, that blog was great
i'll do smilies, but they probably won't turn into graphics and they'll look really lame. but w/e.
english is most definitely :D :D :D . physics was :) . and calculus is a resounding :( :( :(

EDIT: oh yay, i actually did them right for once! i usually do them backwards...

Oh, I forgot!

Euro is a :D :D , and Chinese is a :o but sometimes a :)
