The Official Yale Class of 2012 (Hopeful) Thread

well its not official, but its been 5 PM the past two years...

oh alright then

I came home and slept for 3 hours and I woke up 2 separate times from Yale dreams, one where I got deferred...actually I got a bunch of letters from Yale on Friday morning, and then my brain told me...if they were gonna accept me wouldn't they have just gone ahead and sent me a poster too? And then i realized like you do sometimes in dreams that I got deferred. Go figure ;-). And then I woke up thinking..."it's too thin..." even though the decisions come out online.... And then I realized that Deferred with the letters rearranged minus 1 D is Federer. This was my first thought when I woke up. I've been playing too much scrabble...

"And then I realized that Deferred with the letters rearranged minus 1 D is Federer."

^hahaha that made me laugh!

omg, twentyone hours. i could definitely sleep that long..

Lol that takes some talent to sleep that long. I'm more of a nappy kind of person, 5 hours at night 3 more in the afternoon ;-).

i can do that too. if i sit down for any stretch of time i fall asleep because i never sleep during the week. six aps worth of hw keeps me up to all hours. so, i make it up on weekends. the longest i've slept this year straight is fifteen hours.

Sweet baby jesus! 15 straight hours? I don't think I've ever done anything for 15 straight hours in my life before. Unless you count like...breathing ;-).

yeah, i was really tired, it was an awesome experience. all i do on weekends is go to mock trial and sleep. then, sunday, i work on homework. sweet life, huh?

Lol i tried mock trial i was really bad :-(. Sundays are meant for watching football ;-).

mock trial is my favorite thing to do, it takes up all my time though. i never understood football, it has too many rules.

Yeah, I love mock trial. I wrote my essay about mock trial!

...what's mock trial? hahaha i feel so.. un-american.

it's a competition where you act like lawyers and witnesses from material given to you in case format. it's a lot more than that, but.. that's really it simplified.

I believe the term mock trial refers to the competition where the case is a criminal trial, whereas moot court is essentially the same thing with a civil trial.

I wish we had mock trial here in Canada. I've always wanted to try it.

We have MUN though.

^Yay for MUN! Do you go to any American conferences?

mine is called mock trial with civil cases, we had a civil case last year.

OMG AKIIRIAH. FELLOW MUN CANADIAN!!!!!!!!! nice to meet you.

We don't have mock trial or anything like it, which is sad, because I know I would love it. I have been trying to make my school more politically aware, but I hadn't thought of starting mock trial before... is it hard to set up (a sanctioned organization, etc.)?
