I don’t agree with this, at least not yet (time will tell!) but this is pretty much what many of our friends and relatives may believe

I didn’t know what my passion was 10 years ago…and then I finally admitted it to myself…writing for the Onion! I grew up in WI so I have just the right perspective on life (typically enhanced by beer).
You do know the Onion is satirical, right?
@Bridgenail of course. I posted it to lighten up a stressful month.
Does anyone not know the Onion?
My comment was not meant to be taken seriously and maybe satirized said friends and relatives a bit.
Though, seriously, some people do end up doing exactly what is described and the article is pretty bitter I think, in truth.
@bridgenail No. Wait. You write for the Onion? You are either serious (that’s hilarious) or not, which is also hilarious (especially the “enhanced by beer” part).
Oh I wish I wrote for the Onion! It’s my “dream” job. Some day folks…I’ll make it to the Onion…but for now I’m still strategizing (procrastinating).
Here’s one of my favorites (like @compmom) to lighten the mood on college:

Good one, though like the other one it is a little too close for comfort, especially this:
“Sources said the teen will still face financial disaster if she follows through on her long-term plan to enter a PhD program, which would require her to spend approximately one-fifth of her adult life bringing in little to no income.”
ps I used to give Onion compilations to my son for his birthday. Maybe we can keep them coming…
Yeah. I spent a quarter of my adult life getting a PhD and almost another quarter raising children whose dream job is opera and possibly fine arts ( tenth grade) Know what? I wouldn’t change a single hour of it!! Just maybe 15 minutes here and there, … wink wink
