Thanks in advance! ^_^

Some of you who browse this forum may notice a similarity between I and a certain person named “Djokovic.” We are basically twins(but not by blood) that go to the same school. =P

Hmmm… a 2260 is pretty good dude… It is like the ultimate score ever. Except over 9000.

Good choice for Princeton  and EA for Caltech and MIT. We are so twins, lol.

You have many good EC’s and challenging classes and look like a good admit to the schools you posted. Nice SATs and good luck!

I think you’re in at Berkeley and have a strong shot at Dartmouth. The others would strongly be helped by higher scores and a great app. You’re in about as competitive a pool as it gets being Asian and from CA. A school that sent 5 to ivies out of over 500 is not looked at as competitive at these schools–many schools send 25% plus,. Your application will have to really differentiate you so focus on the essay and getting great recs.

Thanks hmom5!
Yes, i am thankful to have a great counselor who has worked as an admissions officer and has sent students to great places. I wouldn’t be surprised if she wrote me the strongest rec of all her students.
By higher scores i presume you mean a higher SAT I. I probably will retake the test in october, but i can’t help but wonder if it’s really going to make a difference since 35ACT~2340. What kind of score would i need?
And what do my chances look like for tech schools?

Princeton-reach…but its a crapshoot for everyone
Dartmouth-lower reach…very possible
MIT(applying EA)-i’m really terrible at guessing for MIT…cuz everyones amazing…but you seems pretty solid
Yale-reach…crapshoot
Caltech(applying EA)- probs low reach…very possible
Olin College of Engineerin- good chance
UC Berkeley-ehh…basically in
Stanford.-good chance

thanks for chancing me
Areas of interest: Math, Physics, Econ, Engineering

You should have a very good chance at most except Yale and Princeton which are hard for anyone.

You don’t really need to retake the SAT I since you’ve got 35 in ACT. Send that. SAT is just a test, once your score are over the bar, they’ll concentrate on other parts of the application. Keep up all the good work, ECs… and have fun. It’s senior for god’s sake.

You seem like a very strong applicant. That being said, there are many many Asians from California that love math and have equal stats to yours. I’d say you are in at Bekeley, have a good shot at Olin, Dartmouth and Caltech. MIT, Princeton, Yale and STanford are all about luck, but I wouldnt be surprised if you got into at least one of those top 4 schools.
ps thanks for the chance

well i think you’re definitely in the competitive pool, so at this point its just about standing out. you’ve gone past the first round of admissions, now you just need to make sure you sound different from everyone else who has as many academic extracurriculars as you. Try to make yourself sound different from many asians. I’m sure you could get into the top schools (Berkeley for sure) just make a good essay. For MIT, i think many people have gotten 800’s, so watch out! Good luck!!

my thread:
What are my chances for Ivy League? Please

check out my chances, thanks!

Wow your application is crazy!!! work on the essays/recs/intangible stuff and you will have as good a shot at your schools as anybody! i think you’ve done everything you possibly could so far, hahaha

Bump…
What are my chances for EA at Caltech, MIT, and UChicago?

Bump…
I will chance back!

I hope you don’t mind me asking, but do you mean your school sent 5 students each to Ivies/stanford/caltech/MIT or 5 students in total…?

in total. =P
yeah, it’s not really that much.

Anyone? Please? =P

good stats man. considering that you have a 4.8 W GPA, and amazing EC’s your a fit from what i have seen in CC. The fact that your a chinese male and are 2nd in school(considering that colleges probably look at that in every school and what your school offers), there are many people with your kind of stats. Your SAT is a little low but you ACT is def up ther. I say keep MIT and stanford as safe schools and try for princeton or yale. good luck

You have very good scores (35 ACT=AMAZING!!!) I say that you have, with your 4.0 GPA, a very solid chance at all schools you listed. Except HYPS will be tough because you are from California and Asian male, which is a very bad combination.
