No, it is a B+

Wow, your school has a harsh grading system. A 90 is an A- at my old school. Omgosh, does this mean colleges are going to see a 91 or 93 as a B? I’m hoping not:(

One more period.
yay.
the only optimistic thing i have to say right now.

I’m hoping they look at it like I made straight A’s last year. =)

You’re at school right now? haha
I’m on a break.

Did you really? Lucky!

Break to where? Haha, yes we don’t get out of school until 3:15

I felt like taking a lunch break. It’s only ~12:30 pm here:> (I also go to an online school)

Oh on the west, ay? I’ve never been out past colorado.

Haha, yes I am:) It’s unfortunate when we have live lessons though. I have to get up around 6 am to make them:(

Haha doesn’t sound fun. Why don’t you go to a high school?

I do go to a high school, it’s just online:) It’s more for personal reasons, but some other factors that motivated me were the time wasted within classes, and the lack of individualized attention. I was with 30+ people in each of my classes. Now I have about 7-11 on average:)

I don’t get it.

It’s online… How is it, “Now I have about 7-11 on average.”

And could you have not said 7-12? I almost read it as Now I have about convenient store on average. =)

Calhoun just isn’t a good college coach - he teaches his kids the wrong things in life. And I love Ellsworth, great area up there. Union River Lobster Pot is FTW, and so is Acadia. Just wish they had some better golf courses up there. The only good one’s are more towards Bangor or Kebo (which is like a ridiculous amount of $ for 18). We’re in Bucksport.

"We get this box of supplies and we just do all of the labs ourselves at home. We get all of the solutions, aprons, test tubes, etc. through the mail. I would feel the same way, but I hated my school with a passion so this provided me with an alternative solution
They are just like any high school kid. The online lessons are very informative but they are relaxed. People aren’t pressured into commenting, which I think enables people to be more outgoing. In my AP Biology class we had this discussion regarding how the body develops and everyone was commenting throughout the whole thing. The teachers provide us with guidance regarding an issue, but they leave it up to us to discuss and formulate opinions. For example, my AP Economics class had this lesson on recent laws passed in California. She sent us to this website that had all of the possible acts that could be passed and we guessed and debated over which ones were passed and which ones we would have passed and why. The lessons make us actually think and communicate our own ideas, which enables people to become more outgoing. Everyone is pretty nice to one another too. I actually found out about my current school from someone on CC haha

Yes, that’s basically how I become friends with people. We also have monthly counselor meetings, where you and about 10 to 15 other students meet live to talk about the whole college process and get to know one another. People add each other to facebook and talk. All of our live ellumination sessions work the same way. There is no pressure on you to raise your hand or anything. The teacher will talk about some issue or topic and then at the same time you can talk about and comment on the issues with the other people in your class. We also have clubs that meet live too.
No, we have these discussion forums, kind of like CC, where we are asked a question and we post responses and comments to everyone in our class. We also have these live ellumination lessons where there is a board in the middle of the screen(that we and the teacher can write on) that the teacher uses to present lessons. He/she will be talking on a microphone(that we can use too) and there is this chat box that we type into questions and comments. They are pretty informative and fun"

Here is some information I already stated on here haha (I’m too lazy to explain it again)

Union River Lobster Pot’s pretty cool.
They just built a super walmart which is pretty ridiculous

The only golf courses I know of are on the island (though White Birches in Ellsworth probably has one). I couldn’t tell you if they were any good or not. They might have some decent ones out toward Belfast and Camden/Rockport

I have a job !
I have a roof over my head!
I have a great family !
My daughter has been accepted to 3 colleges so far - 2 to go !

and
I can leave work to go home in about 40 minutes ;-)

I’m happy that we are back on topic;)

^Do you mind if I ask what online program you use? The way you’ve described it sounds like my school (Connections Academy) except we don’t meet with councilors in person, just through email and phone calls. I know they do different things in different states, though.

And as for optimism… I just realized my schedule was off and has me a week ahead of everyone else. Meaning I can be lazy today (like I am) and still be ahead. Yay!

Basketball practice is only 45 minutes tonight. Yay!

O, I go to Keystone:) I’m glad that you like your program though!
