These aren’t 40-hr. work weeks, though.

To say the least …

These aren’t 40-hr. work weeks, though.

To say the least …

And I’m going to guess that many marry other Google-ites. I mean, with such crazy work hours, who else are you going to meet?

^They also think it’s fun to spend all their free time on the computer.

No grandkids, then…

Mathmom,
We consider the meal benefits the most important part of the compensation package. Last summer, the woman in charge of food at S1’s office made sure she ordered stuff S would eat and came around every day to make sure he’d had breakfast. Wish I knew her name so I could have sent her a thank you note!

He blew an interview with a competitor because he forgot to eat that day and went hypoglycemic.

Our loan expectation here is the subsidized Stafford limit ($19k).

As far as what new bachelor’s degree graduates in computer science do and how much they are paid if they have jobs, consider the career surveys at various universities:

Thank you for the valuable information, ucbalumus!

I will add a couple more:

RPI - <a href=“Students | Career and Professional Development”>Students | Career and Professional Development;

RIT - [Students - Salary Data | Office of Co-op and Career Services](http://www.rit.edu/emcs/oce/students/salary)

I haven’t looked at all of those links in the two posts above this, but I think the RIT info on computer science helps us remember warnings about the limits of small data sets. Unless we are all ready to believe that getting a master’s degree reduces earnings potential!

Sorry, the table does not reproduce well–what it shows is that max. salary offer for a BS in computer science is 90K, but max for MS in computer science is 85K. Probably not a big MS group.

The RIT MS CS median is higher than the RIT BS CS median, though.

Perhaps there should be a sticky thread in the career section of these forums with links to these university career surveys. That can help with common questions about “how are job and career opportunities with _____ major?”.
