Students do need to be wary of ED as one highly selective East Coast college I work with is now straight out rejecting far more ED candidates than before. Previously, most was simply deferred. This year they communicated to advisers and counsellors that far fewer students would be deferred. We saw this happen in December, and in some cases the admissions office admitted that if the student had applied RD, they might well have been admitted.

@exlibris97 what caliber of school is this that rejected kids ED who might have gotten in RD?
