Finally received my QAS (Question and Answer Service) booklets from the May 2015 test in the mail today–it’s a bit different from SAT Test #5. Most notably, a question (#14 on the Math No Calculator section) was omitted from the math section, suggesting that the question was flawed.
Not much time to study it before I take the SAT again tomorrow morning…but beggars can’t be choosers I guess.
That could mean it was a pretest question. In SAT Practice Test 5, question 14 in the no-calc section is the graph of the reflection about the x-axis of f(x)=2^x+1. Do you remember whether this question was on the May test?
I don’t really remember…I’m an SAT tutor and I’ve probably tried 10,000 different SAT questions, so it’s hard to remember specific questions from a test I took 5 months ago. If anyone can remember what #14 NC was, or can piece it together from the online forums, then please let us know.
Glad y’all are getting your packets back. I’m still waiting for mine. I have some old SAT tests where questions were omitted. Funny, isn’t it, that I don’t have a single ACT that had a question that had to be canned due to flawed writing?
I agree that the ACT is the more polished test at the moment. But I think that the SAT is now a better option for most, due to its higher level of predictability (in terms of question types) from one test to the next. The ACT requires a far broader range of knowledge.
