Thanks, hsmomstef, for pointing out what a fraud this person actually is! It's definately the "ramblings of a troubled" someone. What makes me mad is that everyone is wasting their time even replying to these make-believe scenarios.

donatejimmyfund, you just tested the patience of a number of people regarding your friend's letter from a music professor, and everyone was polite with you despite your seeming not to read their initial answers. Why are you belittling the same community that gave you help? (BTW I agree with hsmomstef that college-mom is not a real mom but someone yanking our chains.)

On the other hand, if we made your parents seem tolerable, that is a good thing.

lol thanks neumes, it is a very good thing.

i read the response's to my thread before i made responses to..those responses, but my...responses.. were just clarifying the situation.

i understand your point though, thanks for notifying me of my ironic behavior

But you are right, we are annoying! I tell my teenaged sons that being annoying is one of the privileges of parenting.

No way with a 25 ACT.

Anyone who replied to this thread seriously needs to take some serious time to consider their abilitity to read into lies. Would anyone with a 25 on their ACTs even APPLY to an Ivy? Let alone think they could get in? Athletes don't even get that much of a push. A 25??? That barely cuts it at State U @ Hickville let alone an IVY. College-mom: YOU ARE A 'TARD. Stop wasting everyone's time with your made up bullshlt.

^^^ouch, lol...

i know a kid who applied to Harvard (this year) w/ an 1800-something on her SAT (and she thinks she might get in, considering her other stats), so someone applying w/ a 25 ACT isn't outside the realm of possibilty... besides, i think 21 or 22 is the national average, so a score of 25 will make the cut at most (maybe that should be "many," not "most") colleges...

...I think that this is a person who got a 25 on his or her ACT and creates various hypothetical situations involving 25s and Ivies in the hopes of getting some reassurance. XD

Anyways, I'll say it. 25 is definitely a decent score -- it's the 80.09th percentile, which obviously is well above average. I don't think that an 80th percentile score will keep you out of anywhere if you're otherwise exceptional (which Ivy applicants have to be, anyways.)

If you just enjoy hearing people's opinions on hypothetical college situations... hell, don't we all? That's why I read chances threads. :]
