i hate that part of disney movies where they break into song!!!!!

lol. it's the part where the general is singing "i'll make a man out of you." it starts off with mulan failing at all of these fighting activities and then ends with her climbing that pole and mastering all of the activities.

somehow im making a metaphor between getting into penn and defeating the huns lol.

oo, i love that part! lol. i love the whole movie!!

that's an interesting metaphor, princess, lol.

speaking of mulan...random memory: i never wear makeup bcuz i had a traumatizing experience when i was younger. i was made to look like mulan - really, and the movie hadn't even come out yet at this time! white powdered face, red cheeks and lips, purple eye shadow.... >_< because of that experience i have never 1. joined another thai dance class 2. worn makeup. talk about traumatic lol

26e, how can you hate the song break outs?!?! i love em lol especially in mulan and aladdin ^_^ (love the soundtrack for both of em!! haha)

lol. i like mulan a lot. but lion king is still #1

^^^TRUF

mulan is cool

hercules is also up there

but aint nothin messin with lion king

right on breakordeath!!

pooh pooh disney

You know, I've never seen Mulan. Always meant to get around to it, never did. I've been told I had a deprived childhood as a result.

26e - pooh -> winnie the pooh -> the cutest bear ever with a very a little brain but he's still sooo cute!!

megalo - you really have been deprived of a childhood. you MUST watch mulan. it's sooo good!!

random comment: i just got home from our school's fall play: Shadow Hour. damn, it was good. i'm gonna try and go again tomorrow or saturday - it just requires that much thinking about!!

What is Shadow Hour about? Sounds more interesting than my school's play: Romeo and Juliet. And I have to go to mine because I was in a date auction yesterday for National Honor Society. Blast!

DATE AUCTION?? wow...interesting ideas your school has...lol

Shadow Hour (by Ralph Tropf): A senator is accused of rape. The supposed victim works for him (imagine the scandal there!). Is he guilty or innocent? The play shows scenes from the trial, the jury as it tries to come to a decision, various "flashback"-like scenes that show interactions between the senator and the woman, and other various scenes of what happened before the trial. There's no real particular order to all the scenes - one minute your with the jury, the next your watching what happened a month ago, the next your in the court room, etc. The jury members are really interesting - each has his/her own convictions so of course there's some conflict. It's really interesting and the actors are pretty good (i didn't know some of my classmates had such talent!)

That play sounds very cool. The flashback thing is kinda like The Laramie Project, which our school did last year. Much cooler than this year. And yeah, date auction. Haha, it gets better, one guy basically had sex with the floor (he's an awesome dancer) and another started ripping off his wifebeater and pouring water on himself. They were both summarily kicked out of NHS, so all of NHS is really ****ed at our sponsors. It's gonna be a fun year.

oh yea, and also, the concept of the title "Shadow Hour": in the light of day, there seems to be a clear black and white. but what about the gray areas - the "shadow hour." what happened during this shadow hour.... (it's a lot more interesting than i'm describing it to be lol - i'm not good at this >_<)

about romeo and juliet: i have never known my school to do a traditional shakespeare play. i almost feel like i'm missing something! lol. they usually do something more contemporary, and this year and last they did something almost contraversial - plays that are serious and make you think. last year's was the Laramie Project. (i didn't see it though - too sad T_T i couldn't handle it lol)

haha...thats funny that both our schools did laramie project last year!!!

Haha, where in CA do you live, because I was actually in San Francisco's Gay Pride Parade this year, while visiting Berkeley, even though I'm completely straight. And you aren't missing much with Romeo and Juliet. Angsty teens meet, parents say no, angsty teens jump the gun, kill themselves. I much prefer Hamlet or Macbeth. Or even Midsummer Night's Dream

i live in beverly hills (please, no one hate me!!) haha, i went to West Hollywood's Gay Parade this Halloween - when i was supposed to be finishing up my penn app!! yea...that wasn't the smartest idea i've ever had -_-" but my friend was damn insistent - practically dragged me there ><.

We're reading Hamlet right now in ap lit, macbeth was ok (i don't really remember it lol) henry IV is cool, and i really like taming of the shrew (one of his few comedies lol) i liked Iago from Othello - he was bad, but his lines were soo much fun to read! lol

my friend went to Gay Pride - i wonder if it's the same one??? i dunno if she went all the way to san fran though...maybe it was more local...i have no idea lol >_<

Haha, Beverly Hills, too late, I hated you before I read the contents of the parentheses. J/k. And Taming of the Shrew is great. And all of Shakespeare's villains are really fascinating. My favorite line is Macbeth, though:

"Out, out, brief candle! Life is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing!"

wow..lol, i'm not good at remembering lines...but the one i really liked in macbeth went something like "you will be killed by him not born of woman" or something like that. i just liked it cuz it was such a riddle!

othello - Iago: I am not what I am. <- infamous words lol

and of course!!! "To be or not to be - that is the question" (haha, this is just because we went over this passage today in class lol ^_^)

Haha, so, my English teacher is sex-obsessed, and happens to have fun little facts at her disposal like, "Get thee to a nunnery!" Nunnery in Shakespearean times can mean either convent or...whorehouse. Good to know. In case I ever have a freak accident with a time machine. I'll know to avoid asking for a nunnery. Nuns and whores both scare me.

ohh!! i forgot one! how could i forget? i love this line:

"If all the year were playing holidays, to sport would be as tedious as to work; but when they seldom come, they wished-for come, and nothing pleaseth but rare accidents."

~ Prince Hal, Henry IV
