Ahh.. I'm sorry! I'm looking at my notes for a test tomorrow. It's just so boring, and posting makes it fun wheee..

Maybe we should meet in a chatroom on AIM (if you guys have it, if not, I don't mind mindlessly posting here). It seems like just the 3 or 4 of us posting here. I don't know if any others really want to see me breaking down mentally or not.. hmm..

lol, probably not. but yeah, chatroom is good. it's late, though. some other time. yeah, we'll all rent out a club, though when we get in (you MUST get in K, i just hope i do). We can all pitch in ;)

haha sounds like a plan...i hope we all get in..

ahh its late...homework is calling

I'll stop bothering you guys now. I'll go to my room and start reading this chapter. It would be absolutely surreal if I got into Penn. O well crosses fingers

no, you can't leave our CC round table. It's boring with just two! I've got stuff too. I'm getting kicked off. ok, sleep, whatever...

all right, that ends that. Krabble, i expect a lot more optimism out of you tommorow. leave the pessimism to me...;)

woooo!! im not even applying to UPenn and I have an 1810 SAT wooooo!!!!

krabble, keep your head up, man. We are all in the same boat, everyone of us is qualified for upenn. Why do you think we are applying to it anyway? So just don't sell yourself short, and have some confidence. I think your stats is better than mine, and also I haven't even started on my ED application yet. If anyone should be depressed, it should be me, and I'm pretty slammed right now to be depressed. Sux that I'm six hours in time zone difference from you guys. I would've love to just in a chatroom. Anyways, back to writing the essay....

I love how a guy at my school who isn't very intelligent has already gotten into Princeton for sports, while I'm sitting here worrying if I'll be accepted to Penn ED even though my academic and extracurricular stats are way better than his. I've decided that when I have kids, they will concentrate on one sport starting at a young age. Who knew sports would be so important?

oh i have another thing to vent about. Why can't Penn let people apply to Wharton and the College? And I'm not talking about joint or dual degrees. I mean if they reject you from Wharton then why cant one still be able to be accepted into the college. I know that the reason why they didn't allow it is because they think people who would apply to both are less passionate but I don't think this is true in all cases. You can pursue different kinds of fields in either the college or wharton, and grad schools usually like students who have majored in things that most people haven't majored in. I usually like to weigh my options, but now I won't have any because of their policy.

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! gunshot

I would suggest you not talk like that on a Penn board. Seriously, it's in really poor taste.

If you don't know why I'm saying this, look in the DP.

what's DP????

daily pennsylvanian. i guess you can figure out the rest.

yeah, I know about the story.

I don't think people should be able to apply to all schools (or 2). My thinking is that even though Wharton is better they are on the same plane. :)

I think we should be able to apply to both the schools. I mean I would LOVE to go to either Wharton or the College - probably wharton a bit more, but if i still got into Penn I would probably go there...the thing is now I have to strategize, like I have to apply to Penn rather then Wharton b/c I know I will have a better chance at the College.

Why would they want to have a hierarichy within Penn? It's great that people want to go to Penn, but they don't want kids using college as a backup for Wharton. That would just create social chaos within the schools.

I second that. I mean, the way it is now, the college isn't "settling" for anyone (unless you picked upenn over something you preferred). That's the way it should be. Why elevate one school above the other?

True, but don't you guys think that Wharton is sort of separated from the rest of the College as it already is? It's sort of annoying how Wharton is viewed as the elite school of Penn. I don't see how allowing someone apply to Wharton and the College would be creating a hierarchy. I understand your point about "settling" for less but I see it differently. I think if someone applies to Wharton and the College as a backup, he/she is saying that they like Penn so much that they'd be happy at either school. Plus, they can only accept a certain number of people at Wharton anyway, which means that the people who like both schools and get rejected from Wharton would still ultimately be applying to the College anyway. And plus, I know a lot of people have decided to apply to the College instead of Wharton because they want to attend Penn either way, and their chances are better when they apply to the college. I also think that by not allowing students apply to the College and Wharton, students are discouraged from applying to Wharton even if they like it better. I don't see how Penn can accept someone's second choice if they apply for the dual or joint degrees and not allow someone to apply to Wharton and the College. oh well; it's not like we can change anything now.
