The Scores Are Out!

ahhh my score went up 10 full points!
2110 --> 2120

Predictions --> Actual

CR 770 ---> 800
M 800 --> 760
WR 770--> 800 MC80 Essay 11
=2340 --> 2360

I thought I got 800 on Math O.O That is so weird.

800 on the SAT Math 2 balances out this 760, right?

Essay: I wrote a page and a half, only had one example of Winston Churchill as a hero that has done great things and should be admired because of that, and how heroes should be remembered because they inspire future generations, and so on. I'm pretty sure it was three paragraphs, intro, body, conclusion. So you don't have to have a perfect five paragraph essay.

I'm vaguely upset because I was totally expecting an 800 on Math, and lol if Math had been 800 I would've got a 2400. Oh well, I can't REALLY complain, sighs. First time as a sophomore, soo I guess I am done.

AAAGGHHHH!!! Mine won't be up until the 29th. Excuse me while I kill myself... and they probable suck too...

OK TO ALL OF YOU SUPERHUMANS WHO SCORED OVER A 2100, are you just naturally a genius or did you really study hard for this? I ask because my goal is to get a 2000, I will be so happy to get that. I did fine in math but can do better 700, but need to really work on CR. What tips do you have for us mere mortals that are hundreds of points behind you? PLEASE tell me if there is anything you have learned in this process that can help me. I am fully committed to doing what I have to do. Thanks!

Math
780-->800
CR
570-->630
Writing
590-->660

1350-->1430 (+80)
1940-->2090 (+150)
yes!

You won't like hearing this, but I don't study for standardized tests. My advice? Read, read, read! (And yes, I have a social life.)

Good luck!

Just take practice tests. I didn't do anything for the SAT until the last week: 5 practice tests in 4 days. It worked out pretty well for me. I'm still baffled though because my practice test scores were much lower than my actual score. And I'm not a fan of reading either.

Oh and make sure you know the format of the test because I somehow messed up the directions on the real one.

I did a few sections on the practise tests before the June 07 SAT (didn't even complete one full practise test).

As bschenkel said, read, and might I add, think critically as you read. It doesn't matter what you read, so long as it is in well-written English. I have seen people who score well reading everything from Ernst Hemingway to The Economist (me :P).

My score decreased by 200 points.

I am going to go sit in the corner...

cr: 720
m: 710
wr: 770

1430/2200......i'm pretty satisfied since it was my first time, and i'm only a soph.

Hahahahhaa I've been really amused for the last few hours. I retook this time to raise my math score, and instead got:

Verbal- 790
Math- 680
Writing- 800

Hahahahhahahaha. Seeing as my math score was 730 last time, I am throughly amused and very pleasantly surprised at my other scores. Even the ETS saw through my dislike of math xD

Composite score after 2 tries: 2320 yay! No more SATs for me ever again.

And anewkid: you can try the practice books...but in my opinion, the very best one, esp. if you get bored, is Up Your Score, which is this HILARIOUS book written by kids who all aced their SATs. It didn't help me as much since I was fine with CR, but their CR section is amazing.

And personally I would just read more good literature :) I think it's reading and writing over the last few years that gave me such a solid verbal foundation.

CR - 720
M - 620
W - 630

I actually didn't study for this. At all. I'm now trying to determine whether it would be worth retaking...if I scored that well in CR, it would make up for the lower math score, right? (I'm talking about at normal schools here, not the Ivies).

didnt too even close to what i was expecting..

660 math
640 CR
690 W (64 MC and 11 Essay , <- only positive)

I though for sure i was going to get a 700+ math, how many do you think I got wrong to get a 660?

I fluctuated like crazy...
Will this fluctuation make a big difference? Will colleges look at my composite?

May:
Math:720
CR:660
Writing:580

June:
Math:690
CR:520
Writing:740

Composite 2120

Writing - 800 (80 MC, 10 essay)
Math - 760 : This is odd because I love math...
Critical Reading - 770

I am horrible at critical reading mainly because the passage based questions always confuse me. I am surprised, since I averaged around 680 - 700 on CR in the blue book tests!

This is my first time taking the SATs, and I wish I could've scored a bit higher, but I realize I scored a lot better than the vast majority of students do, so I should be happy.

I got:

CR: 730
Math: 680
Writing: 690 (MC: 69 Essay: 9)

Overall: 2100

I think I'll take it over again, but I'm not planning on going to Ivies anyway so it probably doesn't really make a bit of difference.

CR - 690
M - 680
W - 740

2110

First time, just like I thought I'd like get. Probably won't retake
